Description

Hopefully Drysdale is still available with Buf 1st rounder in the Larkin trade otherwise take best player available. Bring in Demko for the future. Ristolainen, Krug and Samuelsson will help on D. Johnson not nearly as good as Larkin but TB needs to cap dump. Still have enough cap to bring in some more FAs. Unlikely Krug signs with a rebuilder but could offer more or even go after Barrie.

Ottawa has no interest in 5.25m Neilsen. Johnson is really that good now to be top centre and does he really want to leave Tampa as he is surely on his last contract.

TB isn’t paying to offload TJ like a cap dump. The Buffalo trade is awful for Detroit. Ristolainen can’t play defense and we already have Hronek & Seider locked in (speaking which where is Hronek?). When was the last time the best defenseman in the draft made it to the 8th pick? Melnyk isn’t taking Nielsen and compensating Detroit for him. The lineup is all screwed up.

So Detroit trades Larkin for Buffalo's scraps, It's pure garbage for our future Captain and unless Cozens++++ is involved Larkin isn't going anywhere especially for garbage.

7OA isn't "garbage", but this is a terrible return for Larkin. Fortunately Yzerman is pretty smart and you don't have to worry about dumb terrible trades (coming from an Oilers fan who lived through the Chiarelli regime).
