Gives them a better goalie for a year that they don't need to protect, a 3rd line LW they need while getting rid of Bjugstad...

I'd argue it does a lot of things.

We have a backup in Desmith if we're going to move Murray. No need to acquire a goalie when a package of futures would help us more. 'Better goalie' is also a stretch, Murray had two cup wins before this year. We also don't have to get rid of Bjugstad, he's been fine as a 3C when healthy. Johnsson isn't an upgrade at 3LW over Tanev/Simon/Sheary/Poulin. So it does nothing for Pittsburgh

If I were Pens, I absolutely wouldn't trust Jarry+DeSmith being a working duo for the whole season.

Murray's two cups were great achievement, but last couple of years he has really struggled...I do believe Andersen to be better of the two.

Johnsson matched all of those 3 in points this year while playing 20 games less. Last year he put up 40+, Simon and Tanev have never put up even 30 and Sheary is a UFA and most likely walking. I'm not the highest fan of Mango, but he's easily an upgrade over those three.

As for replacing Bjugstad, that's an easy fit, honestly.
I'd use the lines such as
Guentzel-Crosby-Simon/Johnsson
Zucker-Malkin-Rust
Simon/Johnsson-McCann-Horny
AstonReese-Lafferty-Tanev

Honestly saying that this trade does nothing to you is one of the stupidest comments I expected to receive. This does nothing but good for you, really...

If Anderson was that much better than Murray the Leafs wouldn't trade one for the other......... we also have Poulin for 3LW so four options that aren't Mango, so he really doesn't help.

Sandin for Dobson would be fair for okay for both sides but I dont see Dubas nor Lou doing it. Sandin is becoming a very good player for the leafs and is WJC-20 performance was amazing for Sweden. He just needs to develop some muscle and weight and he will be fine. In general in a couple of years people may call Sandin the steal of the draft as he could become a 40-50 point 2 way defenseman.

So yeah trades fair for both but I just dont see Dubas doing that

Leafs need a future goalie...Pens are about to lose one of theirs anyway due to the ED...in this way they both benefit from it. Also nothing prevents Pens from re-signing Andersen as an UFA, but they're certainly losing one of Murray or Jarry to Seattle if they decide to keep them both.

Also Poulin is a very high stretch to consider him NHL ready yet... Mango seems still easily the best option to me out of all of those four names mentioned...

Don't see the benefit for the Leafs. Korshov and Bellows...about the same. Sandin and Dobson about the same,,,,yea I know every other teams RHD is so spectactular. Liljegren should an NHLer, so the Leafs aren't trading two young cost efficient Dmen for one.

Think Dobson's better than Sandin and Bellows's better than Korshkov but that's just me...

The Leafs would never make that trade with the Islanders. What are you thinking?

I agree with palhal here. I don't think the Islanders trade benefits the Leafs. Similar potential, but we give up 3 for 2. And Dobson is probably not ready to play 20+ minutes with Rielly anyway.

Drop Korshkov if that's an issue. RHDs tend to just be more valuable since there's a smaller amount of them in the league.

I believe Dobson is ready by now.

Anderson is not a better goalie. Frankly, that why you are trading him away. Bjugstad is to help cover Anderson's $5M. Flip Johnsson to Kapanen and discussions can start.

Andersen is as good or better goalie than Murray is. I'm trading him because Leafs need a future goalie, and I don't think Andersen is the guy they'll roll with long-term due to his age. And due to the age, I'm giving you Mango and taking Bjugstad off your hands to make it more affordable.

Demanding Kappy over Mango is just asinine.

Andersen is so much better than Murray man, how is that even debatable? Murray plays behind a better team and puts up worse results. Lost his starting job for pretty much the whole year and even when Jarrys play fell off he couldn't regain the net. Andersen's one of the better goalies in the league and not many Leafs fans want to see him traded since hes pretty much been team MVP since they acquired him a few years ago

Sandin is going to be much better than Dobson trust me he is going to be a top pairing defenceman in the NHL for years.
