Description
Twenty-sixth of a series ending on June 30. Mainly doing these to get a better understanding of teams I’m not a “fan” of per say.

Any trade I make will also show up for the other team when I get to that team.

Don’t get mad at me for the lines for the whole series really since I’ll be using the lines before the stoppage and will factor in injured players where I see fit...though do feel free to make suggestions on the lines.

Tampa Bay Lightning:
The first one is pretty basic. Might be an overpay but the 2nd could be unconditional if it is.
The second one makes cap space in the shape of coburn for hajek and trades from a position of strength (ld) to one of weakness (rd). It has now come to my attention that deangelo and brisebois have history but I already made the ny team so it is what it is.

Gourde waives to get a larger opportunity in Detroit and paquette is moved for cap space.

Meh. That seems like a lot for Killorn, especially with that condition

I'd maybe give up like a 4th for Killorn. He's a straight salary dump. There is zero chance I'd give up a good young player plus a high pick.

Edit: he's a salary dump because of TB's cap situation (not because he's a bad player). Didn't mean to imply that he's not good. Also, I'm being a little sarcastic with the 4th thing (not a lot though).

I'd give a bit more than that - up to a 2021 2nd + 3rd is more than enough imo. He's a useful player but had inflated stats this season. I bet most teams won't be able to take on a 4.5M-ish cap hit for multiple years so COL shouldn't have much competition if they wanted to make an offer.

I think the Avs can do better than Killorn with the cap space and assets they have. It would have to be a steal for me to accept the trade. I'm not saying he isn't worth more than like a third. He's just not worth more to Colorado given their circumstances.

most likely because Deangelo has been significantly more valuable over the last 2 seasons despite playing 300 less minutes. But again, that's before we address the fact that he pulled that off while having Marc Staal as a partner while Sergachev had Coburn last year and Shattenkirk this year. And also before we get into the nuances of the Rangers defensive system. So really, I'd wager the gap is far greater than the already significant gap.

What about Sergachev being left handed doesn’t that give Lundkvist a chance to actually play and shore up that left side? Or am I missing something?

Tampa has no interest in bringing DeAngelo back. Usually the goal is to remove cancer cells from your system.

IMO it's close but I give the edge to Sergachev. #98 is better defensively/on PK and DeAngelo for offense/PP.

seems like you're making a really good argument for trading Trouba.... That's a good idea.

there's a reason we posted the chart... again, Sergachev has performed a little bit better defensively. Most of that if not all of that is negated once you account for defensive partner and team defensive structure. meanwhile Deangelo has quadrupled Sergachev's offensive value at even strength. That's kinda the point. It's not particularly close.

Det declines, it will take more than a 3rd to take on 5x5.16. Gourde isn’t much more than a third line guy even on Det’s roster and they already have way to many overpaid bottom 6 forwards.

So your saying to do this trade and subsequently trade Trouba?
