Given his contract, the fact that he's one of the best 2 way centers in the game and that hes a ppg player, you could make the argument that Barkov just as valuable as Eichel. Now add a 100 point winger, also signed to a steal of a deal. Now look at that deal. I doubt any Sabres fan would accept that value just for Eichel, let alone adding in a top 5 winger in the league last year.

Unfortunately its not that easy to take the two best players from a team, especially when their contracts are both top 5 in value in the league.

MTL fans are a close 2nd. for imagining Domi coming off a down year on a 50 point pace is worth the 8th overall pick in stacked forward class.

Barkov would probably have to demand a trade and floridas management would have to basically agree to a futures package, but its not straight up garbage.

Agreed this is probably not enough for Barkov and Huberdeau unless Florida wants basically no contracts and all futures. Maybe switch out Montour for Jokiharju and I think the value is just about there.
That package would definitely be fair value for Eichel and if the Sabres were willing to move him that kind of package they would need to jump all over. In reverse with MTL that would be the Canadiens trading 9 o/a this year, 2021 first, Ylonen, 2022 2nd, Cale Fleury, KK, Suzuki and Mete. That return would net Eichel + if the Sabres were willing to trade him.

2 blue chip prospects, including the #1 prospect in the league. 2 high B prospects. A young top 4 RHD. The 8th OA pick in a loaded draft and likely another 1st AND a 2nd. I'm sorry but I've never seen anyone give up that much in the stupid Eichel trades on this site. That's definitely enough to fetch either Barkov or Huberdeau and value wise I think it's pretty close.
