What would you want in trade

Description
What would you want in return for your teams individual player?
Kapanen fits the Wild style of play very nicely and he is a right shot.
Glass is a center prospect I like a lot. I'm sure Vegas views him as a future number 1 so he won't be a cheap get. I don't know Vegas's unique situations or needs so no idea what he might cost.

Toronto probably wants to fix their defensive core and find cheap options to fill in at forward though they have some options internally.
Also worth noting is the Wild are stacked at LW, so much so that they are spilling over to the right side.
I placed prospects in the LTIR column and ordered them according to my estimation of value.

Leafs would want Greenway and a good pick. Thats if we need to clear cap though

I am pretty sure Glass is untouchable. If their gonna move a centre its gonna be Stasney as Glass's ELC is gonna be so valuable to them

Vagas won't trade Glass. They need his ELC contract.

Dumba would need to come back in a Kapanen trade. Obviously the Leafs add though.

Joel Eriksson Ek for Kasperi Kapanen should be a pretty fair deal. Maybe even Kapanen + Kerfoot for JEE and 2020 2nd rounder so Minny wouldnt lose center depth but leafs would gain a young 3C and good pick.

Not too sure there would be a good deal to be had with Kapanen to the Wild. The ask for me (and this isn't straight up, just a base of a deal) would be Brodin. However nearly everything I've seen regarding the Wild trading him is that a top 6 C has to come back. The next ask based on comments here would seem to be JEE, but again with the Wild's C situation, I'm not sure that's ideal for them either.

Well this went poorly not what I wanted to hear. Was hoping someone would take a LW or 2 of the Wilds hands in return. Thanks for all the responses.

How is that a fair deal? You trade a 40-50 point player for a guy who hasnt even hit 30 points yet?

All for one year of cap relief. Remember the cap will be flat for a few years.

Don't worry Wild can't trade Ek unless they get a top 6 center back. Actually think the price in this case is a bit steep since Ek is still trending upward and Kerfoot seems to be what he is.
Any one interested in a Sturm + Wild 2020 2nd + Addison + Greenway for Liljegren + Kerfoot + Kapanen? Not sure it's a good idea just something off top of my head.

Wild don't need Kapanen, he fits nowhere in the lineup. The Wild are stacked at wing. Kerfoot is the Tor player that should interest MN in a minor trade deal.

I don't see Vegas parting with Glass (or Krebs, who I want).

I get Wild have Wings I'm just trying to sell some off for a guy with a right hand curve. It's not going well. Everyone else wants JEE, Brodin, or Dumba.

Oh I thought he was trading Kapanen for Ek. Kapanen is still improving.

I dont think Kapanen is tradeable unless it's for a top 4 D. Kapanen I'd be very comfortable with him in the top 6 if he wasnt stuck behind Marner and Nylander.

I dont see glass being traded unfortunately. one player off that toronto 3rd line is going to have to go. I would lean towards kapanen as his contract is shortest but you also arent getting a 23 year old player for scraps. or wing swaps. itd take some kind of cost effective d man. which im not sure the wild have. i just dont think you guys match as trade partners at this time.

what would the leafs add that would make the wild trade dumba though. like think about what the other team wants too. I feel like kapanen is a mid 40 point career player. he will consistently put that up. How valuable is that to a team? That i dont know.

I'd like more than Kunin and Hartman as RHS too. But unless it's something like a Greenway/Donato 1-for-1 type of deal it doesn't make sense for MN.

I don't mind if you come at me with my opinion backed with some numbers and let me defend myself. However, what you did was make a deceptive partial quote of what I wrote.

But you didnt stop there you then implied that because my opinion was so ridiculous I had no right questioning someone else's idea. That's just wrong. I'm just curious what made you decide to aim so far below the belt with someone you dont even know.

      Anyways as for this comment...

I think Kapanen could easily become a 50-60 point player with more playing time.

He gets only 2nd line PP minutes and he plays the PK.

If he gets top 6 minutes and a chance to play with an elite centre and on the 1st PP unit I can see him hitting 60 points (or at least 50 points).

As to what they would add to trade for Dumba it would probably be something like Johnsson (to balance out the cap and a solid prospect like Liljegren or a 1st.

Probably not. Not sure what's out their where that will work. I do get that Wilds number 1 priority needs to be a top 6 center after that maybe something to solidify the goaltending until Kahkonen is ready. If Wild trade Brodin to aquire anything then Wild should look at the depth on the left side of the defense.
Problem I'm seeing is Wild have 3 guys a year or 3 away from being NHL ready, all on the LW which is covered pretty well. At some point it's going to have to be worked out. At this point it probably only makes sense to overpay for a top 6 center. IMO never hurts to see what kind of a deal Wild can find on a right shot wing. Sorry I kinda rambled there a bit.

Roster spots will open up for wings in the next 1-3 years: Parise and Zucc will fall off. Foligno isn't a long-term player. Hartman is nice to have but after his RFA ends he'll be gone. Greenway/Donato will sort itself out and one will be gone eventually.

The way the Wild are setup they'll be able to run 3 (maybe 4) lines very evenly for ToI for the season, not having 1 line play 20+ mins and the 2nd line play 18+ mins on a nightly basis. They just need the top-6C to replace Staal. The 3C/4C aren't spots hard to fill, either internally, trade, or overpaying a UFA. Not getting ROR when he was available was a huge mistake.

Completely agree with most of this. I think Parise has 2 or 3 years then its LTIR. Zuccarello is here unless he is bought out, with the stagnant cap it might not happen.
To your point, yes a few roster spots open up, but the right hand shot only gets bleaker. It's not the end of the world but I like to have a full tool kit.

I actually think Parise plays out his entire contract as a really expensive bottom-6 grinder. Zucc's contract is pretty buyout proof with the way it's structured, I think a half retained trade is more likely in a couple years.
