While I think the deal is right value wise, I don’t think Carolina is the team that takes on Eriksson.

It took a 1st for Carolina to take on a single year of MArleau's 6mil.. Since Loui has an extra year it'll probably cost extra..

Penguins aren't doing that, and the same goes for Oilers and both the Avs trade. They can pick Tanev up inn free agency, no need to pay to get him. Markstrom's contract is an actual nightmare, and Gaudette, Virtanen and even Stetcher are making too much (as of now). The Eriksson deal seems to be the proposed deal on most Nucks ACGM, but Carolina needs some cap space (Svechnikov contract).

And that is really the issue with many teams in the league. They all have their own varying levels of cap issues and with no CBO's no one is likely to help another team without major compensation.

They also don’t need depth forwards, they have Kamenev, Nichushkin, Dries

Nichushkin isn't a depth forward but you're right they do have lots of those too

as Moli92 said, Nuke is not a depth forward, he is a very big part of the teams success this year. Cant understate how much of a beast he was defensively and once he finally got that monkey off his back with that goal in 90 some games, he was at times unstoppable when he got rolling

Avs don't want beagle if the only benefit is moving up 2 rounds (and waiting 1 year).

We also wouldn't trade a 2nd and a 3rd for a UFA you just signed.

A RHD for 1 year might be nice, but not at Tanev's caphit, and not at that price. Not sure we really need RHD though if Timmins is ready which I think he probably is.

You're going to have to pay more than a 3rd for 5th swap if you want a team to take on Beagle's $3m caphit for 2 years.

What sort of prospect would Vancouver be willing to move in a cap dump trade involving each of Sutter, Beagle, and/or Baertschi?

Only way to fix that team is to go back in time and keep your boy away from free agents

that isn't necessarily true.
Teams will be looking to help themselves, but that doesn't mean it takes a huge cost.
If you have a center to move, you probably won't have issues with it.
And defense is historically easier to move than forwards. Especially if you can manage to balance it out till the season starts and injuries occur.
Wingers have always been more difficult to move. Mainly because they are a dime a dozen. And unless they are knocking in more than 20 goals a season, that's how they are viewed.
