Saad isn't really what Detroit needs. We're better off with the picks.

Having Lafreniere on an ELC would be more valuable to us than Eichel would be for the next 3 years

For the 7482836749201937473827th time, the Red Wings won’t trade draft picks/prospects for veterans

5 years. I think both teams would be silly to make this trade

Saad is a great player but the offer would be more like WSH/EDM 2nd round pick for him. He’s worth more but doesn’t make sense for us since we are shipping him off to a contender in the hopes of a first round. While our picks are most likely 32OV.

Hawks should stay far away from that Eichel trade. If we get Laf we pick him and its a home run pick. He's exatcly what's missing from the forward group

For a team that already has 2 players on 10.5 M contracts and an anchor on the backend with the Seabs contract, yes, it is. I did not say Laf is going to be better, but the fact that this leaves us with a 21 man roster that is still over the limit tells you all you need to know

I actually agree, but going rate for bonafide superstars are four #1's. That's what I used as a guide and didn't want to lose cat

Karlsson, Burns and Jumbo didn't cost four 1st’s. Seguin didnt cost four 1sts, Heatley didnt cost SJ four 1st’s. I think your going rate is just a tad extreme.

Of course this is a case of Doug Wilson a seriously good trade artist and Peter Chiarelli, a seriously bad trade ( and drafting) GM.

That and those traders happened 10+ years ago (ex Karlsson) either way, if you offer sheet a player of his caliber and salary = 4 1st rds. I disagree that laf will benefit us more in the next 3 years. Kane Toews have a 3 year window to be able to contribute at a high level. A rookie who will take 2-3 years or a sophomore that's already carrying a terrible team?
