Just wondering because of the cap situation if Leafs would consider 2020 #1OA for Nylander, so basically Lafreniere for Nylander?

I'd rather have Lafreniere than bank on Nylander's possible center ability

Leafs would have to add. I love Nylander and think hes a great player but Laff is expected to be better.

even if they were the same quality of player Laf would be on an ELC for 3 years which provides better value, and Laff is younger

The ELC provides way too much value, especially in Minnesota.

Arizona is right up against the cap and are still trying to add Hall. I cant see how though. There is no way they can add Johnsson without Leafs taking a crap contract back.

No individual player would get u the 1OA. Some may say Mcdavid or Crosby but even thats a stretch. Cause the guy u could have drafted may become bigger than those 2. In general the pick is to valuable to be gambled away. Nylander can grab a top 10 pick but it would be in the 4-10 range.

    As for Johnsson and Bracco

Bracco can net a 7th if lucky or another AHL player. So far Ho-Sang, Svechnivov (detroit), Honka, and Mckeown are his comparable values
Johnsson can nail a 3rd and 5th from a team like San Jose. or Dominik Simon and a 3rd also worked.

Wierd I guess i don't agree, though not a lot of trades that can back my stance up. If I can get a know quantity who produces at a high level in the nhl and is still young enough to play another 8 years i think a team should consider it. There are salary cap implications and i get that part of it, but as the old adage goes " a bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush."
