Description
Crow hangs them up. I don't want him to, but he's one concussion away from having serious issues and he has kids to care for now. The surplus on wingers makes saad expendable and we can use him as trade bait to get on of PIT's goalies. If we go the UFA goalie route saad can me moved for a 1st round pick and a mid level prospect

Ian Mitchell starts in rockford and gets a look in the NHL eventually. If he establishes himself as an NHL regular one of Dehaan or Murphy are moved at the deadline. I would lean toward playing Murphy on the left and moving dehaan but that's just me

To any team looking for a cheap middle 6 winger. With Shaw back and the addition of Pius Suter, caggs is expendable. I don't get all the hawks fans on here cap dumping shaw, when healthy he is a much better player than Caggiula and is exactly what the roster has missed the past few seasons

We need a LD to bridge the crossing for the younger players and this seems like the most cost effective option.

I don't see PIT doing that until the TDL and then Saad half retained. They dont have a ton of cap space to work with.

I saw something that said that Dach was among Debrincat's most successful linemates, so the the lines I am running in my template are
Kubalik-Toews-Saad
Nylander-Strome-Kane
Suter-Dach-Debrincat
Kurashev-Kampf-Shaw
with the ability to swap Saad, Kubalik, or debrincat around whenever necessary. I think the initial reaction of "how dare you put debrincat on the 3rd line" is unnecessary because while yes, technically he is on the 3rd line, realistically he will be getting top PP minutes and he is also lining up with the (hopefully) future 1c of this org, which bodes well for his future if they perform well.

Aside from that, I think Kalynuk definitely gets a chance to prove himself, as it sounds like Bowman considers him NHL ready, but not too much difference. Think the Pens trade is alright but I'd probably do it.

Shaw should probably be on LTIR too. I know he claims that he’s gonna be back next year, but as you said with crow, Shaw is seriously another concussion away from having his life ruined. I’m scared for him if he keeps pushing his luck with hockey.

penguins ain't over paying for rental Saad, hell we don't even really want him.
We don't need $6 million wingers. We don't have cap for that.

Agree. With the overpay part...

In a Chicago AGM a few back someone offered Saad for 2nd straight, and it was a no due to the $6M. This adds in Jarry. If a 2nd was too much, 2nd and Jarry doesn't even get a conversation started.

If you look over the last three years (Since Saad went back to Chicago), Rust > Saad for half the cap. Rust is more physical, better defensively, and they score about the same (with Rust getting better while Saad is slipping). Rust is at $3.5M so Saad should be at $3M. Getting to $3M is for fair cost, not something that should need to be paid for. Pittsburgh counters with Saad @50% for 2nd, and he will be on the 3rd line.

Saad doesn't get to play with Crosby and Malkin like Rust does... I'll keep the current deal and retain half on Saad. Saad @ 50% is more valuable than Jarry. The difference in value is made up for by the pick swap. The hawks get a late 2nd and PIT gets a early/mid 4th. It's Saad @ 50% for Jarry, plus the hawks move up in the draft a bit. Value is plenty fair. Put Saad on the 3rd line he will still get you that 45 wish points with 20 ish goals, plus be able to be on your PK or PP if needed. Put him up with Crosby or Malkin and he's probably near PPG.

I didn't want to get into the Jarry/Murray thing, but Murray is the one that is gone. Even if he wins the Cup that will just add to his trade value.

Saad barely manages 45 points on the top lines since back with Chicago, so how is he getting 45 points from the 3rd line in Pittsburgh? Saad plays most of his time with Kane or Toews, so are you suggesting that they are no good? For transparency, Rust plays with Malkin, very little time with Crosby (about 4% of Rust's ev-time).

Saad never plays with Kane. Never. Most of the season was with Toews and Cagulla. I little but of Kubalik but not much. In past years its either the top line with Toews and some other random guy that's just there or its on the third line. Toews is great but he's no offensive juggernaut like malkin. The Toews line's job is to shut down the opposing teams top line and the Kane line is the scoring line plus the third line was a lot of Strome and DeBrincat so they could score too. Saad has never been on a scoring line in Chicago. He also plays on the #2 PP unit which is him, Strome, Kubalik, Maata/Seabrook/Koekkoek. Saad would definitely be a 65-70 point player on Malkins wing

blackhawks fans have been posting ACGM for penguins goalies like crazy.
And it's always the same response but you keep digging yourself in a hole.
Saad is over paid. Not that good. And not worth the penguins trading for. They don't have 6 mil in cap space furthermore, they don't need to send off good assets for a rental.

"Saad never plays with Kane. Never."
This season Saad spent 27.95% of his ev strength ice time with Kane.

"Most of the season was with Toews and Cagulla."
This season Saad spent 1.86% of his ev strength time with Caggiula.

So, going with your trend here, by saying "Saad has never been on a scoring line in Chicago" you are actually saying that he is always on one of the scoring lines. Or are you suggesting that Chicago has no scoring line, or just one scoring line, sometimes...?
