Kadri is fine at 2C and Newhook is in the system. Mainly they just need a top six possession driver. I like DeBrincat, but he's probably not the ideal fit.

OK COL fans, as I find this offer pretty interesting (im a big DeBrincat fan), lets assume absolute doomsday scenario and Byram demands a trade and holds out (for whatever reason).
Using Byram and DeBrincat as the focal pieces, what would a trade scenario look like?

First off if that were the case he would have zero leverage, he signed his elc, COL owns his rights and by zero leverage I mean less than zero unless he wants to play over seas.

Personally short of the Blackhawks adding Dach or multiple 1st rd picks there isn’t anything that they have to add to DeBrincat that would compel me. You don’t trade elite #1 dman prospects for a forward that yes scored 40 goals but on a career high shooting percentage of 18.6% that is absolutely unsustainable and probably not ever repeatable and doesn’t exactly play a ton of defense. It’s a hard pass on the whole idea.

This is tough. I like DeBrincat, but I don't think he fits the mold of what Colorado needs. I'd rather see a good two-way forward that can drive possession added to the top six.

If the Avs are somehow forced to deal Byram to Chicago, I would be after Dach. I know we have Newhook, but Dach is a guy I really, really like. What I'd really want is to try and package Byram and picks/prospects for a home run like Barkov.

If you really, really force my hand though (lol), I think the Hawks would need to add like Beaudin. It's still not my favorite though.

It's a no from me on Byram for 'cat. Small wingers are much easier to acquire than top pair Dmen.

Tatar makes soooo much sense for this team. The perfect two-way 2nd line LW. Tatar-Kadri-Landeskog could be just as dominant as Tatar-Danault-Gallagher.

I’m a fan of him but I don’t like his contract is up at the same time as mackinnon, if avs wanted to move byram I want it to be someone who has more cost controlled certainty as the avs managing the cap is critical.
