Initial Creation Date: Jul. 29, 2020
Published: Jul. 30, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
1. I know the Rangers would rather move Trouba or Deangelo and keep Lundkvist
2. Flames fans will say we are getting screwed in the Flyers trade, and Flyers fans will say they are the ones getting screwed
3. I know Barzal is the Isles #1 C "and they have to match that"
4. Yes Viqsi, I know you love Josh and would rather the Jackets just keep him than trade him for a 2nd lol

Look people need to stop underselling the Anderson trades. If the Jackets trade him, IF, he would bring back more than a 2nd round pick and some B or C prospect. He is not going to be traded as a discount. Stop peddling garbage for him.

I could see instead of an offer sheet the isles end up making a trade to get Johnny Hockey and send Barzy. Who know?

It isn't a high end return, but it's not garbage either.

...and people don't need to "stop" doing anything on here, lol

I would too, but like I said in the explanation, most Flyer fans will probably already balk at the return with Patrick in it.

Isles cant afford to lose Barzal and will probably match any offer sheet out of desperation.

Agree, ask for Frost > Patrick

I think in 2 years when Tkachuk hits RFA, you get stuck paying additional 1-2million "surcharge" on re-signing him because you grossly overpaid for Barzal.
For argument sake, if Tkachuks true value is 8mil in 2 years, why would he accept 50% less pay than what Barzal gets? He isnt 50% less valuable.

Tkachuk's QO is already going to be $9 million with the way the contract is set up. He is going to get a massive AAV on his next extension or he just takes the QO for one year and goes UFA, and paying Barzal (or anyone else) big money doesn't change that.

If I'm the Isles, I don't know that I'd match that.

4 1st round picks coming from a team that still has a number of holes in it, especially between the pipes, could leave the Flames looking pretty bad.

Lol no way. Not trading a #1 center with at least 4 years of control for a winger that can walk in 2 years

If I’m Columbus I probably take that trade as Phillips had a good year in the AHL last year and is a center prospect, plus we are getting a 2nd back and Anderson goes out west where we don’t have to see him but twice a year.

Putting it in a point doesn’t mean that u then make the trade... we’re not moving nils, and we aren’t gonna be moving trouba either so that either means we trade Deangelo or he moves to the left side

    Suuuuuure they are.

I forgot where we are for a minute, a magical place where an unproven prospect is worth more than a proven NHL player.

Out in the real world though, that's not the case.

    What crap trade?

The above trade makes your NHL team better. I didn't trade you garbage, the main piece is a 23 year old top 4 LHD Dman signed to a long term below market deal, and is something you can use on your roster. What I took was a very good young RHD who is blocked long term by Trouba and Fox in your top 4, and a good young goalie who I assume you'd prefer to trade over Shesterkin. The Rangers can still trade DeAngelo at their leisure for a nice return.

I didn't pull this out of my arse, I got the idea of a Hanifin/Lundkvist basis for a swap from a Rangers fan on here.

What explains a lot, that you live in a fairy tale world where draft picks and prospects actually have more value than NHL players? Laugh it up while you show me examples of a top prospect or a high draft pick netting multiple NHL players in a trade. I can literally list hundreds where multiple picks and prospects get traded for NHL players, because that's how it works genius.

Just because you're in love with Nils Lundkvist's potential doesn't mean he's guaranteed to reach it.

    Definitely Frost instead of Patrick.
Gaudreau is 90+ point player who drives the play when hes on the ice.

Isn't Patrick potentially done? I mean he didnt play before the return to play and still not ready to play in the return to play.

Its probably a low chance hes back at all.

I think the latest update is that he's been feeling much better, and obviously nobody would ever trade anything of too much value for him unless they did their research first. Still a huge risk though, and his status is a big reason why I think Philly would rather hang onto Frost. If they can get Frost instead of Patrick in this package I'd be pretty happy with that return for Johnny.
