Is risto not an improvement on Ceci with a lower cap hit?

Just seen a lot of ppl trying to unload Zucc’s contract on here and the whole point of this was to take on a bunch of bad contracts.

i will let this answer. And no he wouldnt. Ceci 5 on 5 defense was actually better than expected at 60% EZCOLsFXQAgmRxC?format=jpg&name=large

Congrats. You just ruined the Oilers’ goalies, which isn’t that hard to do(just ask Peter Chiarelli)

Fair point. Love it when ppl site their sources. The only counter I would make is risto is not put in a position to succeed in Buffalo currently. I don’t watch the Sabres ever so can’t say I’ve even done the eye test recently.

They don’t need to win. They need to replenish their youth. And now with a flat cap it will be insanely hard to trade for young players on affordable contracts.

This feels like a too good to be true deal for the Wild.

Probably right. They should probably throw in a pick.

he would be for a defensive team like dallas or calgary as he can play a sheltered role with them but thats about it. On the leafs he would be the next ceci

True. The base of this trade was moving risto to a team that is seeking a right handed defender. It didn’t have to be TML. Any team would work for a pick and a prospect with the value escalating with retention on salary.

He is, but Ceci cost us Ziatzev a long term Cap dump and Connor Brown , no interest in a cheaper slightly better Ceci (Risto) at the price tag of Liljegren a 2nd and a 4th

I feel ya. But the pipe dream that is Ryan Ellis that is continuously posted is also not super likely either.

Just pushing Eichel out of town with these trades, that Minnesota trade is brutally bad for Buffalo.

Dude just NO..... you should stay away from any sharp objects......

How can you trade Sampson who is just an absolute consistent performer who improves year after year...... for Mats who is 32 with a 6.0 million per year deal through age 36?

Then you throw in Mittelstadt who was rushed by previous regimes and was never allowed to develop his game in the right fashion.

Actually send me some of that stuff you are smoking......

Not likely if Kerfoot or Johnsson are involved, Nashville is intrigued if Nylander or Marner are involved

To take on long term cap dumps?
