So you get Marner + 2nd + 3rd and TOR has the pleasure of taking Benn, Sutter, and Eriksson off your hands...

So why would Detroit give up a 2nd and 3rd round pick for RD Tyler Myers? RD is our strength and we don't need or want Myers. And fat chance of Barrie signing for a crappy 1 x 3 not happening.

I think just because it's Vanvouver and a chance to really improve his stock by playing on a great team.

If not, they can sign a number of other guys. Not super important.

Not fair to ignore a 5th overall pick in OJ, the 1st and a great 2nd round prospect in Nils.

Only Eriksson is bad in that deal. Toronto has value for everything else. Vancouver gave up a solid defensive centre, top 5 pick d-man, 1st round pick and a prospect that would probably go top 20 in a 2019 redraft.

What if you take out Podkolzin and add Virtanen + 2nd?

Well, when it's apparently so easy to make extremely onesided traded, you should be a dynasty

You bring up how Hoglander was a steal yet glance over the fact that Joulevi has been a massive disappointment? Can't have it both ways man

How dare you bring rational logic to this discussion.

You're kidding right Sutter is bad Juolevi has bust all over him don't know much about Hoglander but that's terrible for Marner.

There's a lot to unpack here..

Van/Tor
Top 10 winger for 1st, top6 prospect, bust, trash, & trash

Van/Njd
young center w/ upside for overpaid 4th liner

Van/Mtl

Over the hill Dman, Young prospect, overpaid backup, 3rd for good goaltending prospect, AHL'er, bottom pairing Dman, & top prospect

Van/Tor pt. 2

2nd, 3rd, for 2 million dollar healthy scratch

Van/Det

2nd, 3rd for 6 million dollar bottom pairing Dman

Stick to NHL20 dude..

Juolevi has not even remotely lived up to his 5OA draft selection -- be realistic. He has low value. The 1st and Hoglander are the only two pieces of value in the deal. A 1st + prospect would have to be in any deal for Marner, but you're also adding 3 cap dumps and a draft bust (he may play in the NHL, but not at the level you'd expect from a 5OA). If Juolevi has so much value as a 5OA draft selection, I wonder how much value Yakupov has? And then where is the compensation for taking the cap dumps? You have TOR adding a 2nd and 3rd to the deal too. Just bad. It's a pretty good troll trade though.

I’d do it then, even though Petry is aging and Mete sucks. Jake Allen would be effective as our backup behind Thatcher Demko.

The Leafs aren't trading Marner unless the package includes a top pairing RHD with term.
