LW upgrade Longer term Goali

Created by: UncleRay
Team: 2020-21 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 13, 2020

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Get a better LW for Krejci and a reasonable cap hit. Give Chicago a starting goalie and someone the replace DeBrincat who’s playing 3rd RW with Kubalik coming up.

Sens have some room. May not get a 7th for both of our salary dumps, so dump them both for a 7th.

Play the young bucks. I have Senyshyn in because RW is his natural position and he did really well in the 4 games he played on that line.

Stud to center the first line in AHL and be first call up for a center injury. If you want to keep Seny there, then keep them both and make a top line with Louko , Stud, Seny.

LD is a bit weak based on unknowns, but it’s worth it to see the kids do their thing. Vaak was “ready” the year he was drafted. Zboril is a do or die attempt. Roll through them until one hits.

If you don’t think that’s possible, the. $6M to sign a top pairing LD. Dilon or Edmunston seem capable on a 3yr deal.

I expect a lot of 3yr deals due to the flat salary cap.

Hawks pass. I think this is a close trade, but Debrusk and Rask aren't making the Hawks a playoff team (not that it's their fault). They couldn't even make the playoffs with Lehner and Crawford playing well, so adding Rask probably isn't the answer. This feels like a lateral move for both teams as Debrincat>Debrusk and Rask>Markstrom. Chicago gets a better starter but their main issue is still team defense. Boston adds more goals but also lets in a few more.

Didn’t have Lehner for the playoffs and he went in a tear. Crawford was good but not Rask or Lehner.

Chicago needs 2 goalies and to sign Kubalik and Strome.

If Chicago isn’t going to include a pick then swap DeBrincat for Kubalik. wink

Not a chance. Come back to reality. Kubalik at $5 and Strome at $3.5 and you don’t even have a goalie yet.

Kubs get 4 x 1, Strome will get 3.5-4 million Crow get 4 million max
We can trade or buyout Smith and Maata and we'll have enough money to resign them

Chicago would end up with even less cap space if they made this trade.

Bad trade for CHI. Don't want Rask at 7 mil when they can resign Crow for a lot less. Debrincat is better than Debrusk too

But they’d have a Vezina goalie for basically $2-3M more cap hit depending on what they sign DeBrusk for.

but you're saying "good luck signing all the RFAs" when we are increasing our cap hit and thats without signing Debrusk! If you think Debrusk is actually as good as all you Boston GMs make him out to be, then you realize he is getting no less than 5 mil, right? That would give us a 6 Mil increase from this trade. How does that help whatsoever? Throw in the fact that Rask is potentially a rental and could walk next season makes this SUPER unappealing for the Hawks. The goalie market is flooded. We can sign a guy to a 3 or 4 year contract for the same cap hit, or trade for Demko if VAN wants to keep Markstrom and Murray/Jarry without giving up a good player in return. Its not worth it to trade for Rask unless you're one piece away from the cup, which the Hawks are absolutely not.
