If he is signed for $9.5 per then it should only be for 5 years NOT 7.

You know Dubas tho. I would only do 5 as well, but look at Tavares and how many years he signed

I can’t wait for Kerfoot to NOT get traded to the Red Wings for 2nd rd pick. At least then the nonsense will pivot to something else.

Your bottom 6 combined for 49 goals total last season. Thats 0.59 goals per game from your bottom two lines. No depth, no speed, no grit and 3 of them are pushing 40. Labanc has never scored 20 and Roberston is a rookie, not guaranteed to make the team.

This lineup seems like a downgrade from what they had last season.

Yup. Everyone was shocked when he signed that last season. He's easily over $3,000,000 a season.

HERE’S WHY LABANC WOULD SIGN CHEAP AGAIN:

He’ll put up monster points on a line with Matthews and Marner. And he takes a cheap deal to try and win. I know he’s already done this, but this time, at least he can get paid big time the next offseason. If he plays on that first line, you’re looking at a 40-50 point season at least. Then you could talk $5M-$6M

Terrible trade for wings as usual. Leafs fans overate their bottom 6 forwards as usual. If they are so good why do you constantly want to move them?

He isn't going to go to a different team and take a bargain contract again, you are dreaming.

Kerfoot doesn’t get you a 2nd from Detroit. Maybe some other team is stupid enough to do that but it won’t be Detroit.

Why would the wild trade a 4th liner for another bottom 6 that costs more?

This almost feels like a joke and BTW two of those guys are pushing 42 not 40! The bottom 6 should have 1 maybe 2 over the hill vets on cheap deals to mentor not 3. And this lineup is significantly worse and is going to get ugly fast

Marleau Isn’t fast anymore... but he ain’t slow as you guys we’ll know. But joe is quite possibly the slowest player I the NHL and should retire this season.

He also wasn't eligible for arbitration last year, this year he is. That means he gets min $3.5M, or he walks as a UFA and we re-sign him in SJ.

HERES WHY HE WONT. . He took a cheap deal to try and win last year and be paid big time the following season. He already played on that 1st line and already put up both a 40 and a 50 pts season. He has arbitration rights this year. If he took another 1 year deal and suffered a significant injury he's ****ed himself. So we are already in the $4m-$6m range part of your plan. Sorry.
