It's closer then the garbage trade that was offered on the other page. Like we would take skinner back and give up the 32nd pick along with mantha.

The point was we weren't trading mantha unless it's a significant overpay, the overpay is the 8th overall pick and cozens. Since we know buffalo won't do that, the trade is dead

As a Wings fan this is obviously too much for Mantha. The reason people think we’re delusional in terms of Mantha prices is because we DONT WANT TO TRADE HIM so obviously if one team wants a guy and the other team doesn’t want to trade him they’ll have to overpay. This is obviously extreme though.

That's funny coming from a Montreal fan. But the truth is DETROT ISN'T TRADING MANTHA. The Montreal fans who keep posting Mantha to Montreal 5 times a day or are so frustrated they have to post stuff like this, Really need to stop WHINING and accept it Mantha isn't going to Montreal any time soon.

Of course it is an over payment. But as I have said any trade within the division will cost more.

so we trade the highest-rated "drafted" prospect and a high pick in a very strong draft for a guy who is past his ELC and deserves a payday.

I like Mantha but I wouldn't do Cozens or 7OA for Mantha, nevertheless both.

Key takeaways here is that I never said Montreal should even consider that and Mantha isn't worth the package I presented. Teams with the worst offense in the league don't trade their best offensive player for downgrades and futures unless they want to get stuck in an eternal rebuild. Also, This trade is a farce, Buffalo would not even do that if Chiarelli was the GM, and this whole thing is ridiculous. Montreal fans, you're not getting Mantha, get over it, and Buffalo fans, sorry your time was wasted here.
