This is terrible. If we are sending a top 10 player in the league we get a top player back and 1st OA. Try 1st overall, Zibanejad, Kakko, and Deangelo. Even then buffalo might say ni.

To trade them Strome and Deangelo the Rangers would have to take ~10 mil back. Probably Okposo and Ristolainen. If that's the Rangers best offer just tell the Sabres not interested and move on...

It’s crazy how people don’t realize we already knew this information in June. Eichel doesn’t want to be traded, Sabres aren’t trading him. The only new information is that Adams is getting calls on him and he’s easily declining.

It’s almost like you think he doesn’t have a 6 year contract term left, and can just say I don’t want to play here anymore but also want my 60M owed. He wants that cash, he’ll play. He wants to be moved, two options: he gets shipped to the highest bidder or Buf says suck it up and play your contract. He doesn’t have a choice in saying I’ll only accept a trade to NYR

I think Eichel is great. But the next seven years with Eichel, the Sabres probably don't make the playoffs...most of the time and never advance past th first round.
The trade proposed spread the cap wealth around and gives the possibility of the Sabres of getting four NHLers instantly and possibility of more to come. Gotta think the trade helps the Sabres short term and long term.

I'm a Leaf fan, but I like to a "global view" of suggestions made by CapFriendly followers. I think you gave a good balance of sending equal cap back to the Sabres along with futures for really a premier player. So if you are fishing for my compliments on your post....there they are.

Ok the problem with your theory is that sabers don't have depth AROUND EICHEL. We did the depth without eichel thing already. So your gonna have to meet in the middle. I don't understand how you can look at the sabres and say owh we'll take away the number 1 center and not add a single existing top 3 player let alone a top 2c (you can argue with other rangers fans about strome and 2c) and think that helps this team. On top of that, the depth trade concept is flawed, you can get depth any time anywhere. We suck because our horrible gm made bad trades, bad signings, neglected the need for leadership, and held assets to long because he wasn't willing to get creative and or see reality in january. Im willing to hear about trades on eichel but please acknowledge we are trading you at least a top 15 center in the league and will require some one who can play his position to replace him in your offer. You can give me every 1st pick your team will ever have and the answer is no. Im not watching a team that puts eric staal as 1c to start the season with the hope a 20yr old kid will replace him next year so i can spin a wheel of opportunity every year with my horrible team destroying top league talent and getting hustled on top 3 pick rfa contracts every off season just to keep losing. NYRs trade Zibanejad and list stuff or don't bother thinking about the trade.

yeah i see it as theyre in a bad place and need an all around team not just a few players and they could build something decent with multiply good prospects and young players and pick but buffalo fans just dont see it the same. even if he doesnt get traded to NYR and goes to say dallas they arent giving buffalo heiskanen and others (fox being our heiskanen in terms of young good dman)

There is something about loving your star franchise player...even though your team doesn't have much of opportunity to be better even if he is in the lineup. I compare this trade something like the Hershel Walker to Minnesota and Dallas NFL trade. Dallas received multiple picks and were soon a powerhouse.

I'd think the price would be in neighborhood of Kakko, Lafreniere, Chytil, 2021 1st...(and maybe a cap move, ie Smith, if needed)

What part do people not understand...he has 6yrs on his contract so he can want to be traded but bottom line is the Sabres don't have to trade him. Risto wanted out and he's still here, yes I can hear it now, no team wanted him but we all know that's not true.
