Toronto: neutral "you sure?"

Columbus: "Yeah, why?"

Toronto: "Oh, no reason......sounds good!" smirk

Columbus: "ok then, book it!"

Toronto: "You got it!" *hangs up phone* "Before they can take it back send it in!" tears of joy

Sabres will just sign Wennberg instead. Jenner isn’t worth 38th overall especially when they have a horrible prospect pool with not a lot of picks.

Dubois gets far more, And Johnson isn't leaving a cup contender for Columbus.

Since leaving BOS Riley Nash has 8 goals in 142 games. OTTAWA passes.

Boone Jenner for a high 2nd round pick...are you high?

Buffalo says no...him and his 24 points in 70 games don't help the Sabres at all.

You honestly think the trade is that unbalanced? With the goalie market the way it is and the fact that they will have to expose both guys in the expansion draft I don't think it's wildly out there.

Add in the fact that Korpisalo is not exactly a top-10 NHL goalie.

Tampa fan here. If Johnson waive's you're probably overpaying for him. Just the picks probably get it done but if you wanna send Bemstrom ok.
Also it's PLD worth a little more than 5million?

It's more balanced then it may seem. Goalies aren't worth much these days so honestly that could be all it takes

Absolutely! If we trade Andersen I would do this in a heartbeat

This is probably less than what cbj is asking but it is close to what they would get.

All the rumours point toward Johnsson but I can’t help but think her foot would be the better fit. Especially if they buy out wennberg.

1. Korpisalo is 26 and an All-Star. Not saying he's Hasek reborn, but let's give credit where credit is due.
2. We don't have to expose either goalie. Elvis is exempt, and assuming we re-sign Kivlenieks (which we will), we can expose Kivvy while protecting Korpi.

(Seriously, how are there people who still haven't gotten the memo on that latter point? There's even a user here who's made it his username.)

How the hell is Elvis exempt? That doesn't make any sense to me. Wow, that's surprising. Okay I take that back.

I just don't think the trade value is laughable. With the market the way it is right now, there's no guarantee Columbus can do better, especially since people know they want to move a goalie. There's about 12 goalies easily available and maybe 8 teams who want them. At some point, the music stops and there's no chairs left.

Re: Elvis, it's his second pro season (according to the CBA) in 20-21, so that's why he's exempt.

I don't think it's laughable at all, and didn't say that. But I don't think it fulfills Jarmo's edict of "We're not trading either guy unless it's as part of a package that returns at least a 2C." Plus, next year will basically demand that a contending team has two strong goalies, so I don't think we'd be uncomfortable carrying both guys.
