Finnish is a very tough language to learn for anyone who isn't a native speaker. It's one of the most unique languages.
It shows that you're a teacher since you used the correct grammatical case with the ni-termination in the word ystäväni for example which translates for my friend. Without that termination, the word would've been ystävä which stands only for a friend.
See? This language is f*cking bonkers.
From what I recall, it's been simplified or modernized recently, correct?.
leafs and and habs shouldn't be able to make a choice, useless they aren't going to be basis
It will still be one sided. The traditional "hate everything about the Leafs" will happen. We can compare Matthews to Kotkaniemi and people will still end up choosing Kotkaniemi.

The term ystävä is very rarely used in common discourse. Especially with younger folk. It's a bit outdated I think. Usually people tends to call them with the word kaveri who stands more for a buddy or a pal. I myself like to think ystävä means more than kaveri in this instance, like a bit more important friend, but this isn't a rule with everyone.
Nowadays in the language as it's commonly spoken it's very common to use loanwords from English language. For instance, a term frendi, a direct loan from the English word friend, is a very common way to describe a buddy in Finnish. So in a sense you're right. It's been both simplified and modernized.
Kotkaniemi. Why is this a question. 3rd overall pick and a solid developing 2C vs. a 2nd round pick that had a great season in CHL but still completely unproven in NHL level.
Btw some of the above Leafs fans responses regarding this are hilarious.
Agreed. Kotkaniemi is still very young. People forget he made the Habs squad as an 18 year old and did not look out of place that year either. Then a dreaded sophmore jinx.....
The kid has the makings of being one of the better 2Cs in the NHL. Like a point per game good.
Just because Robertson scored at will in the OHL doesn't mean it is going to translate (I see 25 goal, 60 point potential). Hell, Georges Laraques was a 50 goal scorer in junior!!!!

it is extremely unlikely he ever gets close to a PPG

Why. He's already confirmed himself a solid NHL role at 20. He's getting better and better as he ages. I see no problems with him getting there. Even Bryan Rust did that last year out of all players.
Wait do Leafs fans ACTUALLY think Robertson is better or are they just playing the role of mindless Leafs homer? I was laughing and prepared to move on but then I thought they might be serious 🧐
To be fair and clear who I would rather and who I think is and could be better is different because I’m hardwired to think things out from an oilers perspective. Robertson without question I’d rather have join my team.

Interesting. I’m taking Latin right now and am very interested in other languages. Cool to hear a bit about Finnish.

Rust got to play with Geno. MTL doesn’t have any players even close to that level of impact. I see JK reaching his potential as a 60-70 point Pleckanec type player.

Point taken regarding the help. Kotkaniemi needs to do the scoring himself.
