no one is giving that up for Kane.

Yes he's a really good player, but he's closing out his career. He's 32 not 23.
He's one of those guys where it's not worth it to move him unless he demands it. You can tell those players there are a few of them in the league. They are older superstars that would instantly improve a team for 2-3 years. But then it's pure gamble. That isn't going to return all of that.

If NSH gives up Arvidsson, Fabbro & Saros, their window is already closed.

I'd be surprised if Cirelli signs an offer that low, and flabbergasted if TB doesn't match that.

No team is giving that kind of haul for Kane. You're asking for two 1sts, a starter level goalie, a good forward prospect, and a really good top six forward who is cost controlled an a really good value contract. No team can afford to give all of that up and remain competitive, and no team who isn't trying to be competitive in the immediate future is trading for Kane in the first place.

Most likely Kane isn't getting traded, and on the off chance he is, the return is going to be pretty underwhelming for Chicago fans, because it's going to be really difficult for interested teams to seriously be in on Kane.

Nashville (or any team) would never give that up.

Saros is the starter as early as this season
Fabbro is the only young dman that will make the team
Arvidsson is a 30G forward on a great contract
2 1st means the team only continues getting older and the prospect pool weaker

The team with Kane minus RV, Saros, and Fabbro is worse than it is now

Edit: Also compared to the E. Karlsson trade

Ottawa Got
Tierney
Balcers
Demelo
Norris
a 2nd and some conditional 1sts

Tierney at the time (and still) was a 40ish point player. Not a 30G - 60P player on a good deal. He's more equivalent to Kunin then Arvidsson

Balcers is a 5th round pick and has yet to make a NHL impact - Probably closer to Thomas Novak then Luke

DeMelo didn't even get a qualifying offer from SJS that season and ended up signing for league minimum. - Benning at best but probably Allard is closer

Norris is a nice looking piece but has yet to make any NHL impact. - Probably a close comparison would be Tolvanen. All upside if they can reach it.

Then picks

Ottawa got a 1st for Karlsson re-signing in SJ. Since Kane has 3 more seasons i think this would just be a 1st with no conditions.
They also got another 1st and a 2nd

So a closer comparison to the two trades would be: Kunin, Tolvanen, Novak (or similar prospect), Allard (or similar prospect), 2 1st and a 2nd.

Spot on in terms of comparison to the Karlsson deal. Depending on how the flat cap shakes out and how long it lasts for, if CHI really does want to move Kane, they may be handcuffed due to his cap hit as well. Also as good as Kane is, NSH is most likely a worse team due to that deal. Lose a top 4 D on the backend, and their starting goalie.

If you want to talk to boston about d men, i think you’re talking about Duncan Keith. Doubt they have any interest in Murphy.

Boston is set on RD. No thanks.

Considering age and term i can’t see them interested in Keith either unless you eat half or take Moore.
