I'd wager you'll get a bunch of trolls claiming to be Leaf fans saying it's an overpay for Holl. And likely a bunch of totally not leaf haters saying Holl is just a 6th defenceman so it's also an overpay. The reality is, it's obviously not anything TO would be interested in. Holl's been terrific all season and last season as well. He's incredible value at 2 million.

Unless it vastly favors the Leafs then you are right; "toronto fans will hate" it

Leafs fan here.

I don't hate it. I just don't think it a deal the Leafs make at this time.

Holl has been terrific. Yes. But if he nets a 2nd rounder and an effective 3rd pairing option? You have to entertain it. McElhinney is for playoff insurance is gravy.

Like I said, at the end of the day, I don't see a fit. But the value I feel is there.

As opposed to the other 30 fan bases that consistently say "actually I think you've offered way too much for our player" 🤣

He’s easily been Toronto’s best defenseman this year. He’s a perfect 2nd pairing defenseman.

Hate to disagree with you but if the Leafs were to make this trade, they wouldn't have a ready to step in and play shutdown minutes with Muzzin.

This trade creates a hole the team can't fill.

Why I said "not at this time", and "I don't see a fit"

The value in the trade however is there.

Why would a top team entertain downgrading their top 4 defence for a 2nd rounder? They would then need to spend greater assets to acquire a replacement for Holl that would likely end up costing more than a 2nd rounder. All for a backup who will be 3rd string as soon as Campbell is healthy again?

Chihawk consistently has said Nylander is worth the same as Saad when he traded him to Chicago a million times. Speaking of one who makes trades that only benefit his team.

For a 2nd rounder and assets we don't need. The value isn't fair it is absent.

If it damages the team, how is the value there? Logically speaking, if the value is there would it not be enough to flip for another top 4 defenceman? Because it most certainly isn't there.

Funny.

3 months ago Holl was garbage. Now he is a legit top 4 defenseman?🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

I still say a 2nd round with window dressing is appropriate trade value given that people can't make up their mind.

I didn't say the Leafs should do it.... and no where did I. But the assesed vakue of Holl in this deal makes sense.

I know he doesn't do it as well, but what do you think Rutta does for Lightning, on the 1st pair I might add.

Sorry but anyone will look good playing beside Hedman. He's a Norris trophy winner for a reason.
