Shea Weber is a very fine defenseman, one of the top flight of defensemen. That being said, he'll be 41 years old when his contract finally expires, and we're building for the future with youth. Accordingly, we respectfully decline.

I think your offer for Eichel gets beat

Suzuki & the two 1sts are good pieces, but:l none of those other pieces have much value for a guy like Eichel
-Armia is a 3rd liner at best
-Mete is a 3rd pair guy
-Hillis is a “b” level prospect at best

I’ve seen much worse offers, but also much better

Obviously a much better offer
But i wonder if MTL (or the Leafs, or the Bruins) would really have to blow us away with an offer to get him
I’d imagine the Sabres would not wanna trade him to a division rival

thats true.

MTL is probably going to have to offer Suzuki, romanov, and Caufield to even consider trading eichel in the division

Tough to say for sure
But I’d imagine a competitive offer from a Western conference team would win out

Buf fans want that.... but we both know that's not gonna happen. Just like with the ROR trades.

Botteril was the GM for ROR. Adams has already proven hes much better than him.

MTL is in the division. BUF is going to ask for a haul considering their in the division. If their ask cannot be met, there's 2 teams out west willing to offer a boatload of prospects

Why would a team coming out of a rebuild give up good young players and a lottery pick for a 35 year old defenseman?

Shea Weber is NOT a fine defenseman this year. He did fell of a cliff between this season and the Bubble. But on the other end, Stepan was worth a 2nd because he only cost 2M in real money, Weber 4th year cost 3M and the last 3 years he’s getting paid 1M. So option 1 : you trade him for a high pick to a team like OTT who needs a good veteran/leader and reach the cap floor Option 2 : Weber retires because he doesn’t care playing for 1M

When Jack Eichel learns how to win a hockey game...we'll give up two franchise players for him. Until then, he can continue to roy away in that dumpster fire and we'll keep suzuki and caufield thanks

Well, this will teach ME to be gracious about another team's player.
