If he is getting traded, this would be acceptable to buffalo.

Agreed. I'd say take out Chytil or Kravtsov, and maybe the 2nd. I'm honestly still convinced that Kakko+Strome+Lundkvist/Schneider+2021 (Or 2022) 1st+something along the lines of a 2nd or B prospect would be a very reasonable offer.

My offer was Kaako, Chytil, Schneider/Lundkvist, 2021 first

I know it seems weird to people but I think it will be Lundkvist because we already have Fox and Jones as small offensive defenseman so I think Gorton would rather keep schneider because he adds a pest like physicality

Yeah, that'd be 100% fine IMO as well. The only reason I've had Strome (Or Zibs) in the deal over Chytil is to move some salary in Buffalo's direction. IMO, the roster player didn't really matter. I also don't think this empties the farm in NY at all, given that every one of those players is replaceable with other guys in the system, or who are already on the team.

I agree but I doubt Zib waives his NMC he loves New York and also who would chose to play for the buffalo sabres

i don't think a trade would include both Kakko and Kravtsov because one of those two need to be 2RW- unless they plan to move one of Kreider/Panarin/Laf to the RW.
I also would prefer they move Schneider over Lundkvist. hard to say but I feel like Lundkvist may have a higher ceiling...
if a trade is made to acquire Eichel, the writing is on the wall for Zib, they most likely will not be able to afford both beyond next season.

For ppl making these trades, think back to what the original ask was from Columbus for Nash (multiple of kreider, stepan, mcdonagh and del zotto) and they didn’t get a single one of them. They got Dubinsky who was a 2/3c, Anisimov who was an upside 3c, erixon who was a 21 year old former first round pick playing in the ahl, and a 1st rounder.

The equivalent of that is essentially Strome, Chytil, hajek, a 1st and 3rd rounder (since hajek was a 2nd round pick I threw in the 3rd as well)

Nash was 25/26 at the time of the trade and had 5 30 goal seasons and 2 40 goal seasons. Also had multiple seasons above 60 points. Very good comparable for eichel with the only difference being eichel is a center.

He requested the trade (which is also the only way eichel will be traded) which lowered his value a bit. A return of Strome, kravtsov, Lundkvist and a 1st is a lot more than the return Nash got and is very close to the rumored asking price of 4 1st rounders (or former first rounders). I doubt anyone beats that in terms of the quantity of quality. Now if LA offers up turcotte or byfield, they obviously won’t have the other pieces on top so it’s up to Buffalo what they’d prefer. Since no trade has been made yet, I don’t think LA offered either of them.

So if Buffalo called and said you can have Eichel for the price listed above you would say no?

You can’t really compare Nash to eichel because of the age difference. The better comps would be seguin and Thornton IMO. Now, I’m not saying eichel is their talent. Eichel is better than seguin and we all know who Thornton is. I do agree eichel should be getting around the equivalent of 4 1sts or so. Just not sure if or what team will actually do it. As a kings fan I wouldn’t do this, but Turcotte/Byfield/Vilardi, kaliyev, ****emo, lizzotte, ‘21 1st. There’s no way they get this.... I’m curious, if he is traded, what the actual cost will be

Nash was 25/26 at the time of the trade. Eichel is 24/25. (I’m going off the year they were traded, it was that age year). The one year gap isn’t that much. There is more disparity in a wing vs a center. Like I said though, Nash netted two youngish middle six roster players, a young defensive prospect (that was nowhere near a top talent), and a first round pick. Keep in mind, Columbus also sent the rangers back a third rounder (I love the fact they picked Rychel and the rangers got buchnevich lol).

Obviously eichel should get a bit more since he is a center, but I don’t think it’ll be too much more. Rangers kept their top young players/prospects.

I could see la giving up vilardi and kaliyev, a middling roster player (iafallo or kempe?) and a 1st. I see rangers offering Strome, kravtsov, Lundkvist and a 1st. I don’t see any team offering more than either of those. Both of these returns are much more than Nash got. If eichel asks for a trade, Buffalo fans are going to be really upset.

Pretty sure he was 28. Was drafted in 2002, traded in 2012. That’s 10 years. Maybe he was 27. Either way both our points stand that they most likely won’t get what they want
