Personally, I love Laine. He just needs too be in the right situation. Dude scored 44G as an 18 y.o. He'll be a an elite player again, just never in Columbus. PLD is a much bigger unknown, imo. I'm certainly not suggesting WPG would've beaten MTL with Laine, but they definitely lost the trade as of right now.

I like him too. He's the kinda player you'd need in a tough spot, because he can shoot the puck to the net from virtually anywhere when he gets his confidence back.

You could say he's a very mood fluctuating player. When things go well, he's one of the best in the sport. When things to south, he becomes one of the worst.

Hintz did get snubbed, but I don't think anyone would have a shot at beating Lindblom. He's better than a few old men though.

I would love to see the Devils offer sheet Laine this summer. After coming off a rough season, I'm sure he'd prefer to go somewhere that's got a bright future. I think the Kings and a few other teams should be in on him, too. I would happily offer him $7M for 3 years.

You're right. It won't happen. But, Laine just turned 23. Draft picks are way overvalued sometimes and adding a true sniper could help Hughes and/or Nico reach their potential faster.

I remember what Brian Boyle did in 2017-18 and how much he inspired a totally mediocre Devils team to make the playoffs. It was one of the most inspiring moments of the season when he scored against VAN on Hockey Fights Cancer Night at the Rock. Boyle epitomized the characteristics of leadership both on and off the ice. His performance was heroic. I don't wanna discount the impact that Patrick Marleau has had throughout his career and I'm sure Matt Dumba has had an impact in growing the game through diversity and inclusion, but Lindblom is a hero and a role model for what he overcame this season. He should win in a landslide.
