I know this is sacrilege to say but I need to get this off my chest: Brayden Point is better than Auston Matthews. For the simple reason he actually plays in the playoffs
Nothing against MTL, but the Leafs did this to themselves.
MTL didn’t win, TOR lost
If they had, you know, showed up, none of this would’ve happened
Montreal did win. Price showed up when it counted. Danault Line shut down the Matthews-Marner line. Read any of my posts from the beginning of the season, Toronto never had good depth to be able to beat the Habs roster. I thought it would show in the regular season, but I forgot that the Leafs are an elite regular season team.

If Danault was actually shutting down Matthews I don't think him and Hyman would have the highest xGs in the playoffs. Yeah, he was a nuisance and did his job but Price stiffing AM and Marner just being a plug definitely had a lot to do with his performance.
Toronto's depth carried them through the round. Kerfoot, Galchenyuk (yes, even despite his turnover), Spezza, Brodie exceeded what was expected of them and Toronto could've been onto the second round had the guys actually earning money decided to join them in playing well.
What about Power? A top 4 of Lindell, Power, Heiskanen, and Klingberg would be nasty
I'd rather Edvinsson honestly. I haven't seen a lot of these prospects so I could be 100% wrong, but I think Edvinsson has better upside than Power. If they get the first overall pick I really don't care who they take.

I wouldn't hate the idea of that. He would be a good pick too. The only reason I'd go forwards over defense is because they also already have Thomas Harley on defense, and it would be nice to add to that stacked D core, but they do need to add a bit up front for scoring.
