If I'm Seattle I'd prefer targeting RNH in free agency instead of Parise + a late 1st

Parise isn't waiving to be traded to Seattle or helping wild so he can be on a building team

Parise has zero reason to help wild, & he won't

Dumb decision by wild not playing him, & parise being angry & feeling head on to point agent had to meet with gm, & coach should tell you where this goes

Watch parise, & NHL players association file complaints against wild soon, & shouting match between agent and team start in media

Why would they file complaints against the wild

Sorry, Parise has no motivation to waive his NMC, and Seattle has no motivation to select hm.

You know if players association or agents want to, they will find a reason or just to get juicy story out there

The story of not being good enough and being scratched? This is one of probably only two ways out for Parise if he still wants to play, which clearly he does.

OK. What's is Seattle's motivation? Lots of better ways to spend ways to spend 7.5m X 4 in cap, that makes the teams better. Of course every homer thinks Seattle is going to select their bad contract.

The motivation is the 1st round pick, and I’d probably also give up Khovanov and another prospect, and a 2nd if need be. Or they could just take Dumba alone. Either way helps the Wild.

He actually doesn't. Yes, he wants to keep playing, but also made it clear he's not going to want to be a part of a rebuilding team

I just don't get people who think players are going to be okay with leaving behind his wife, & kids @ this stage of his career

He's also not going to move his kids out if their school, & friends

I understand where you are coming from, but parise can stay with his family & be payed. So no, he doesn't have any motivation to do so

& he also made it clear he wants to be on a contender, not rebuilding team, which Seattle pretty much will ne

We need as fans stop thinking it's on the players, & they should help the team. I ; neither you know parise motivation, & what will motivate him

No problem with him sitting in the press box for 4 years either and having Seattle just take Dumba. The $1.5 million difference isn’t much and the cap will start to go up again once Boldy/Addison/Rossi need raises.

    $7.5m x 4 left on Parise's deal. A late 1st and a b prospect isn't enough for anyone to take on that contract for a 12/13 FWD.

MN shouldn't even think about trying this either. Parise might just get mad enough to outright retire and stick MN with the recapture.

He’d have to allow it to happen. Also Russo mentioned the other day that any team that takes him will also deal with a recapture penalty if he retires. Though not as big of one, I’d still think no team would allow him to retire if they’ll also take a hit.

Russo is wrong unless they changed the penalty. His salary drops below his AAV next year. This was the last year of his pay being more than his AAV, this year's salary is already paid out. He also has no signing bonus money left.

A team can't stop a player from retiring.

Leafs did it with Lupul to keep him on LTIR, it was super shady. He even said they were cheating lol

What is 1 legitimate reason to file a grievance? Seriously, give me 1 halfway decent reason. You can't because he has no grounds. In his last 10 games, he didn't even manage to get a single secondary assist. Nine of those games were before he was scratched for 3 of the final 4. That's a legit reason to be scratched when you've already been moved down to the 4th line and the team has another healthy player ready to jump back in the lineup (Fiala).

His contract doesn't have any sort of performance bonuses (SPCs aren't allowed to have them) that the team could be manipulating. It's not a contract year where they would possibly be incentivized to suppress his market value. The coach is doing what he thinks is best to help the team win. There's no rule against that in the CBA. In fact, that's generally the goal of professional sports along with making a profit. As long as Zach's paychecks all cleared, there's nothing they could possibly file a grievance against the team for based on all the info we have.

Marjo is playing and shouldn't be anywhere near the ice. Parise might have been bad, but MarJo is much worse. Regular stats, adv stats, eye test all back that up.
