With the NHL Draft Lottery now within one week, I decided to create this thread to discuss who you think may win the draft lottery, who they will pick, and other fun predictions based off the draft order.

Within a week?!?!

Wow I guess I didn't realize that.

I predict Columbus will win the first pick, and Vancouver the second pick. But of course there's no way to predict it...

I got NYR 1 ( draft lottery is biased confirmed ) and Dallas at 2 lol, the 2 teams with the lowest odds win

If that's what actually happens, buffalo fans would officially have nothing to be happy about anymore. Columbus could definitely win it though.

Detroit first, Anaheim 2nd. Buffalo wins like 1 in every 6 or 7 when I spin it continuously... I hate to say it, but Buffalo likely won't win even though their odds are the best.

My ideal prediction is Anaheim wins, Columbus 2nd, and Buffalo ends up with the 3rd.

Ducks take Power at 1.
Columbus snags Beniers with the 2nd pick.
And Buffalo shoots for Clarke or Guenther at pick 3.

I think a lot of people have Columbus winning. I would like that scenario for New Jersey too.

If they weren't doing the "Only two teams can move up" type lottery (which is what i've seen on this and Tankathon), here's how i'd put it together.

1. Columbus Blue Jackets (Matthew Beniers)
2. New Jersey Devils (Luke Hughes)
3. Buffalo Sabres (Owen Power)
4. Ottawa Senators (William Eklund)
5. Anaheim Ducks (Dylan Guenther)
6. Seattle Kraken (Brandt Clarke)
7. Los Angeles Kings (Kent Johnson)
8. Detroit Red Wings (Jesper Wallstedt)
9. San Jose Sharks (Fabian Lysell)
10: Vancouver Canucks (Chaz Lucius)
11. Arizona Coyotes (nobody)
12. Chicago Blackhawks (Cole Sillinger)
13. Calgary Flames (Sebastian Cossa)
14. Philadelphia Flyers (Mason MacTavish)
15. Dallas Stars (Matthew Coronato)
16. New York Rangers (Carson Lambos)

Feel free to yell at me about who goes where, since i'm not good at mock drafts.

This is actually a quite good mock with a realistic order. Very agreeable. I don't think I'm making any mocks up until when the team are decided since I'm working on my rankings as we speak, but it's definitely a cool concept.

I’m not doing as much mock drafts as I used to because I’m training and studying for school. I have San Jose at 1 selecting Edvinsson, and Buffalo at 2 selecting either Guenther or Beniers. The other one goes to Ani, and Power goes to Seattle. This could completely suck because I didn’t look too deep into the prospects this year.

That's a pretty solid mock there. This draft is gonna be interesting to say the least with the abbreviated season and the questionable talent pool. We'll see how it pans out come draft time.

1. Detroit finally wins the Lottery (Owen Power) Power-Seider will be lethal
2. Buffalo Sabers (Matthew Beniers) future Eichel replacement should he be dealt
3. Anaheim Ducks (Luke Hughes)
4. Seattle Kraken (William Eklund)
5. Columbus Blue Jackets (Kent Johnsson)
6. Ottawa Senators (Brandt Clarke)
7. New Jersey Devils (Dylan Guenther)
8. Los Angeles Kings (Autu Raty) <--Kings take a gamble that could be well worth it. RN kings are pretty much set in every category but the center position. With a potential Eichel trade taking on a project could be a better option for them.
9. San Jose Sharks (Fabian Lysell)
10. Vancouver Canucks (Cole Sillinger)
11. Arizona Coyotes cry
12. Chicago Blackhawks (Isak Rosen)
13. Calgary Flames (Jesper Wallstedt)
14. Philadelphia Flyers (Sebastian Cossa)
15. Dallas Stars (Mason McTavish)
16. New York Rangers (Dylan Guenther)
17. Washington Capitals (Corson Ceulemans)
18. St. Louis Blues (Zachary L'Heureux)
19. Edmonton Oilers (Oskar Olausson)
20. Minnesota (Pittsburgh's Pick) (Chaz Lucius)
21. Florida Panthers (Simon Robertsson)
22. Nashville Predators (Nikita Chibrikov)
23. Minnesota (Zachary Bolduc)
(will update as teams continue to get eliminated)

Is this going to be the first draft in a long time where a player hasn't started in the NHL first year?

I'm confident someone is gonna play in their first season (likely Power or Beniers), but definitely a low number.

I never want players to fall in the draft, but I’m gonna make an exception here. I want Aatu Raty to fall to the 25 spot so that I can have my dream scenario of Beniers-Raty-Chayka (depending on if we win the draft lottery or Beniers falls to #5)

That would be pretty nasty. I had Columbus taking Chayka in one of my most recent mocks. Since you're a blue jackets fan, I would like to hear your take on this: Since you guys are in search for a center, and if Beniers is gone at pick 5, would you consider Sillinger as an option? I know it's a major risk, but it could pay off.

That depends. If Beniers is gone and Eklund isn’t, then I’d take Eklund. If both Beniers and Eklund are gone, then yes, I’d consider Sillinger

Thanks for your opinion! In one of my more recent mocks, I had:

1. BUF- Beniers
2. NJD- Hughes
3. SEA- Power
4. ANA- Eklund
5. CBJ- Sillinger

It seems weird with Sillinger that high, but we all know how Seider ended up.

I don’t think you understand how the draft lottery works. There are only two spots that change, one and two.
