Moving Jones but still trying to remain competitive

Description
Jackets getting Dumba would help replace the void of losing Jones. Minnesota may need to move Dumba to avoid losing him in the expansion draft. There might be a fit here.

The Chicago trade may be steep but it does help the Jackets get talent in the prospect pipeline and give them a future they could try to sell to Werenski.

With the draft picks the Jackets would draft at 5OA Brandt Clarke

But he would be the best replacement for him. He could step in play big minutes. Signed for two seasons he would also be cheaper to extend if he works out for the Jackets.

Korpisalo gets a late 4th or 5th not a good prospect and a 3rd. He's worse than Koskinen.

Because a full blown rebuild will affect the organization monetarily. This franchise needs its fans. The fans are not going to spend money to watch a rebuilding team. They still have some good pieces but they need to get an identity and stick with it.

Don't agree that he really isn't that good, he's a fine 2nd pairing player, but I do agree that this is way too much for him.

Probably should have thought of that when going "all in 2019" when the team wasn't even near a cup. Should have also thought of that before handing JD and Jarmo, the architechts of the last "Brick by brick" approach that got them 1 playoff win, extensions. But sure, feel bad for ownership more.

I’d rather see them utilize JD and all that cap space to bring in some veterans in FA like Krejci, Hamilton, or Barrie.
