That would be perfect, especially considering that if they trade Eichel and Rienhart, they’re looking at Jeff Skinner being their 4th best forward behind 3 people in their early to mid twenties.

Buffalo will now become the place of failed players trying to redeem themselves because they’ll get a lot of opportunities.

Some more signings:

1 year, 900k
Brett Ritchie
Calgary Flames

1 year, 1.1 million
Dylan Gambrell
San Jose Sharks

Both are good deals for depth players , but Gambrell may just go to Seattle. If he stays, I think he can prove his worth with the Sharks.

That is not at all what he said. He said that Danault will test the market, and both sides will see what the offers are. It doesn’t sound like Montréal will budge much off of the 6 years x $5 million that they offered at the beginning of the season though.

Are they going for a bigger free agent with Weber on LTIR?

Watch out for Boston. With Bergeron on the verge of potential retirement Danault despite the lack of production between Pasta and Marchand could cause his numbers to go up significantly. Also look out for Vegas. Could be the ultimate revenge story for what MTL did to them lul.

Definitely not to replace Danault. He’s the best C as a UFA by far, Nick Bonino would probably be the 2nd best. And if they do lose Danault, they’ll need to replace him down the middle.

So they could absolutely go for a big free agent, but I don’t think whether or not Danault re-signs has any impact on their ability to do that or not.

Kucherov stop giving too much of your stuff to fellow Russians, only you and Vasy can handle it.

I was thinking Coyle at 2c, then when Bergeron retires Danault in between Pasta and Marchand. Danault becomes that shutdown 3c that just makes the bruins a defensive juggernaut for years to come

Cause having 3 good centers is very important
