Ya not really sure on the value but could honestly see him getting a 1st. Kind of similar to when Miller was traded. Everyone knows Tampa needs the cap space but there will still be a lot of teams bidding. All it takes is one team decide a 1st is worth it to make sure they get him.

Zero chance he gets a 1st. Miller was younger and had term

All it takes is one team. There will probably lots of teams willing to offer a 2nd.

Well Palat & Johnson get slightly easier to trade as no trade becomes 20 team no trades. But yeah Tampa might have to get creative because is if I'm Seattle I'm not taking any of the 3 (including Gourde) without getting something else from Tampa. Just cause they need to shed salary & it's a chance to get more.

Anything does appear to be possible, like comparing a down to the wire deadline trade with double retention through a third team to a summer time trade for full cap.

Gourde would be "easy" pick by Seattle. Tampa has manoeuvre Killorn's and Palat's M NTC to teams that will trade for them without sending cap back. As a result the return on these two player will be low.

I think the oilers are looking to add anyone better than a 4th liner.

True anyone better then a 4th liner but younger players under team control or veterans with term not pending UFA’s the oilers aren’t deep enough at the nhl level or in their minor league system to start moving top prospects or high draft picks yet. Holland made that point very clear to the media in his yr end presser.

A 2nd for a 1st line forward even on an expiring deal is pretty cheap. But regardless I don't really care where he goes the point was trading him for what you can get which will be at least a 2nd from someone. Personally I think Edmonton would be interested but doesn't really matter.

I like the idea of gusev, but we basically f'd him over when we drafted him and he felt unimportant within our franchise, so i doubt he would want to sign again.

Here just read this article to get the gist of it.

I had honestly had no idea. I was thinking he might want to play there with Kuch vas and Sergachev and get a chance higher in the lineup but ya unless something has changed I don't see that happening after reading that article.

No on Gusev, love his creativity but that ship sailed and hes way to slow. Rather find space for Goodrow to return
