Can you explain the reasoning for Bertuzzi? I think he gets QO or gets traded

🤨

Khaira maybe not

Yes dumber things have happened in the NHL than 26 year old Ondrej Kase not getting his 3M$ minimum QO so it's a theoretical possibly I suppose

Otherwise there's really no question

QO decline only happens to fringe assets

Kase and Heinen probably not. But I think the rest do although idk the numbers for most of them. Khaira and Lehkonen are the only iffy ones for me.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think teams can go to arbitration to get a lower QO, right? I think Zadorov is a prime candidate for that. I've heard from some Blackhawks fans that Bowman likes him, but I don't think he is worth his QO.

Bertuzzi, Laine, Bennett and Sanheim are for sure to get their qualifying offers, the rest I'm not so sure about.

I think they have to qualify them to be eligible for arbitration. Otherwise they are UFAs. I'm not sure though

They can decline the QO but hammer out a side deal for something lower if both agree to it, the Jets did that with Morrow and Beaulieu.

Heinen and Bertuzzi will get QOs. Heinen wasn't awful by Anaheim standards.

Khaira, not sure. The rest, more than likely. They could also re-sign before the QO deadline or some may not be QO'ed but re-signed for less. Bertuzzi should be in the RW.

Laine's QO is $7,500,000, your QO is based on actual salary not cap hit

Detroit has lots of cap space, I see no reason they wouldn't give Bertuzzi a qualifying offer.

And its the last year of salary at that. That’s why you see a lot of bridge deals that are back loaded.
