The only plus to that trade and it's a big plus, is the 2022 pick might be Shane Wright. I'm giving the Sharks the 4th or 5th best odds on the #1 pick next year. I honestly believe Wright is gonna be a superstar in the NHL and I'd like as many chances to get him as I could.

We should do this trade imo
1- we get that 2022 1st
2- even though Couture is too old to fit our new rebuild timeline, i think we can still flip him & get quite a lot for him-
especially if we hold some of his salary

Let’s do it
Go Sabres!

SJ is not trading another top 10 pick, especially if it's this.

Pretty bad for the Sharks. No doubt SJ needs to add in a Reinhart-Couture swap but that 1st is totally out of the question.

I highly doubt anyone would touch that contract without that 1st

Logan plus a first for Marcus Davidson would be about fair right now.

I think this comment is correct.

I agree that Logan could be flipped if salary was retained.
Unfortunately, the trading history of our current GM leads me to believe he would settle for a second even with 50% retention.
If everything was equal Sam is at least a first more valuable than Logan.
Considering Logan's age and salary I think it would be a bad deal for Buffalo unless another first was included.

Sabres don't own Davidson anymore I don't think.

I know, that is why i inserted him into the trade as what it would take to move Logan.
Does that make sense?

So you’d amend the trade to:

Sharks get Sam
and
Sabres get Couture, and TWO 1sts

Is that what u meant? I wasn’t sure
And that sounds great- i just don’t think it would happen

Buffalo has insider info that no other team has. Shane Wright will be drafted in 2022. SHHH dont tell anyone.
