I don't really see a fit in Vancouver for Reinhart that makes sense from a sabers perspective.

I don't like that trade from Van's prospective losing Myers would be huge he is a very valuable player to our D i mean look at the bubble last year as example i think with brining brad shaw it will make him better defensively i am pro trading our pick for Reinhart just not for that package

myers is legitimately one of the worst defensemen in the NHL

I like the idea especially since Elliot Friedman and towhee came out today and said don’t be surprised if Buffalo gets another top 10 pick.

However in terms of value you need a to add a prospect for Buffalo to take Myers. Also if you got Buffalo to accept this deal you will need Myers approval as he had a m-NTC

Sabres are finally trading away one of the worst defenseman in the league in Ristolainen. They don’t need another one in Myers. Plus he probably doesn’t waive.

That's not a very good reason for keeping him if you have the opportunity to unload him, though BUF would decline this particular trade. Being the offseason he could be replaced with an equally effective player for significantly less cap.

Brad Shaw definitely sounds promising. I am a big fan of the hiring, there's a couple of D on the roster that could really benefit from his teachings.

I am going to go against the flow here.
As a Sabre fan, I would make that trade.
First, Myers is far from being a bad defenseman.
Go to https://public.tableau.com/views/SKATR2019-2020/SKATR?:embed=y&:display_count=y&ConfusedhowVizHome=no#3 for a snap shot of his analytics.
I would like to see Myers return to the Sabres, he played well here and we lost him in a bad deal with the Jets.
Second, While this is not a great draft the 9th and 40th (Arizona forfeited their pick) alone is a decent return for Sam.
As comparison those picks have about the same value as the 16th and 22nd OA.
I think most Sabre fans would be happy with those two first round picks for Sam.
Third, MacEwen would add a little toughness to the team.
Fourth, with Myers back on the team, Buffalo could move Ristolainen for additional picks.
I am all in on this trade, it is a good return for a player who seems to want to leave Buffalo.
