short of offering mathews theres nothing aves would entertain for Makar, and even that with what they have up front still wouldnt make sense to move a 22 year old Norris candidate.

Nowhere close to what Makar would cost. Realistically the only way you're getting him out of there is an offer sheet, and Toronto in no way can offer enough that Colorado wouldn't match.

Colorado says no until the leafs reluctantly throw in Mikheyev......then Sakic has no choice to accept.
