if a 1st 2nd top 4 top 6 d 25+ goal scorer with term and good contract a former second overall pick whos young and controlled and needs a fresh start is not even close for an injured 85-90 pt max guy on a crappy rebuilder then youre off your absolute rocker pal

I think the issue with the Courturier trade is the fact he's a UFA after this season and I doubt MIN gives up that much for a guy they could lose after one year. If he was still under contract for a few years then I'd say there's something to work with.

I think what people keep getting wrong with the the Eichel trade is it doesn't make sense for Buffalo to go get players back in the deal. Maybe one ok player to balance out the financial part of it, but Buffalo is planning on going back into another rebuild. The Eichel trades should be largely high pick/top prospects-based.

If Buffalo was looking to compete this probably still isn't great, but it would be a more appropriate type of trade.

As great as courturier is, this wouldn’t happen with him as a rental. Especially the wild adding this much. A hockey trade would be more likey, but based on term the wild would not be adding a 1st and 3rd by any imagination.

I think the eichel return is going to be so underwhelming from every team. No rebuilding team with the cap space is going to give up their farm and any team that is “1 piece away” won’t have the cap space or strong enough farm system to get him without sending back mainly nhl players. So it’s a perfect storm of screwing the sabres.

Courturier is a UFA after this coming season. I'm sure the Wild pump the breaks.

95% of extension talk is nonsense....Minni doesn't do the trade. And the Flyers gave up way too much for the two rentals in Jones and the very average Korpisalo.

resign jones

Never base a trade on this fantasy of resigning. What is Jones motivation to forgo his free agency just to sign with the Flyers? Flyers make that trade, then they feel they have to justify the trade by overpaying Jones as an upcoming UFA.

okay youre thinking of this wayyy to much im just saying in this case in this one scenario with all these other players and moves (just in this case) its a good team and there would be no need to overpay or gauge if its a contender which in this case is pretty close

I mean yeah definitelynlook for futures. If they were looking to compete it would have to be wayyyyyyyyy better than an above average wing an overpaid dman a total question mark, a mid first and 2nd.

If you think this is remotely close I don't know what to tell you pal.

TK is an above average winger. Good start.
Nolan. Is a total question mark literally might not ever be relevant. Not valuable
Ghost is not good. Over paid. Close to negative value.
Meyers a top 4 dman to team with way too many dmen. Some value.
A 1st and a 2nd? Some value.

You are probably 2 firsts and Frost away from being close

Ummm...outside of Ghost (who would just be salary moving) every player involved is 24 or younger. Why wouldn't they want that?

Because they're not looking to compete NOW. 24 is the beginning of the prime years, so why would they want to waste prime years when they're prepared to build around those guys right now?
