If Vlasic and EK65 agree to waive their NMCs to allow the Sharks to protect 8 forwards, knowing they won't be picked by Seattle, then the following players are protected:
Couture, Logan
Hertl, Tomas
Kane, Evander
Donato, Ryan
Meier, Timo
Labanc, Kevin
Balcers, Rūdolfs
Gambrell, Dylan
Korenar, Josef
Seattle would then pick Matt Nieto instead
SJS

Hertl, Tomas
Kane, Evander

Meier, Timo
Labanc, Kevin

Vancouver protects Motte over Gadjovich. Motte is our version of Nick Paul. Guy does it all and is a fantastic piece for us. Like Ottawa with Paul, we have extremely high internal value on him. He takes the last protection slot.
Otherwise, pretty good. I looked at the Flyers list too since they're my #2 team - I would assign a slim possibility to one of JVR/Voracek being exposed, but realistically I think this is a more likely protection list. Not much harm letting NAK go.
ANAHEIM: to begin with, it's hard to predict at this time who the Ducks will protect, because I have a sneaking suspicion that Anaheim will try to deal Josh Manson to obviate the dilemma of protecting him or Fleury. But I think you end up with one of them being selected by the Kraken, as long as Max Jones is protected instead of Sonny Milano.
With arizona I really wonder if them losing key picks recently and now having a very limited prospect core will get them to be sensible and protect hill
Tuscon just was 13-20 due to mostly 25 year old UFAs

Well. He may do it all. But does he do it well 😐
Motte has some of the worst possession numbers of his generation, and yes in tough deployment- but many studies suggest it's a minor factor at best

I think they View JVR and Jakes contracts as protection. NAK will be exposed for sure but leaving exposed Lindblom and Patrick is a mistake even though Patrick had a bad season Seattle can take as much time to develop him as they want and with his potential that could be the pick

Limited scorer and skillset too
He might just be a rusty swiss army knife
I'd rather have something sharp- whatever type
Very well.
It's vancouver's coaching. Most everyone in our defensive structure has brutal analytics. But I'm not a believer in the advanced stats. We have a new coach next year for the defensive structure, that should help!
But yes, he does do it well. It's mostly who he is with. He's the only guy in our bottom six that belongs in the long term plan. When he is on his game he can spark the whole roster - he's fast, he's aggressive, and he can create chances. On top of that he is very strong on his defensive game, regardless of what the fancy stat people want to say.
Essentially your assessment tells me you have never watched a full Vancouver game, or if you have, it was in isolation.
He's sharp. But nobody else he is with is. There's a reason he's a fan favorite to almost everyone here.
Reckon they'll try to be good early too to not look bad relative to Vegas -hell of an act to follow my goodness... with few other good NHLers to select also
Carlo definitely over Zboril. Benson over Khaira or Kahun. Not sure how high they are on Marody. Archibald is another option. Maybe Wagner over Moore. Highly doubt STL go 4-4 and let Thomas go.
Flyers fan… if not trades are made prior to the expansion draft, Patrick and Lindblom get protected over JVR and Voracek. Will need the cap space for defensive help, and it’s likely one of those two goes being that there aren’t many top 6 forwards getting exposed.
Secondly, nobody hold the truth, but here is which picks I think won't be available :
- Motte : A playoff beast
- Brown : I dont understand why people protect Tierney, a bottom 6 soon to be UFA, over a big cheap top 15 draft pick.
- Thomas : STL have too many young fowards to protect and Dunn is not a part of their future. They will trade him and go 7-3-1.

1. Logan Brown will receive his qualifying offer and be exposed to Seattle, per Bruce Garrioch.
2. Chris Tierney can kill penalties and play in the NHL full-time while Logan Brown can not.
3. Even though Brown is a big, cheap, top 15 draft pick, he is also a draft bust.
4. If Tierney is protected and then traded, Ottawa will receive a 3rd round pick at a minimum.
5. If Ottawa retains half of Tierney's salary, the Sens could receive a mid-low 2nd round pick instead.
