This seems to be a problem in leaf land. Guy plays solid for few games and all of a sudden he’s a future this, and a future that. Try looking at it from the rest of the leagues perspective. Sandin played 9 NHL games this year. 37 total for his career. He’s looked okay. Definitely some bright spots. Definitely some flaws in his game. Players have starts like that all the time. Some of them take the next step. Some of them don’t. Sounds like you think he’s a stud, but NHL GMs are a rational group. Bertuzzi has proven beyond any doubt that he’s a good NHLer, and Sandin has not. Bertuzzi certainly has more value than Sandin in the NHL, even if that’s not the case in your head.
