I like the idea of moving Fleury to CAR, but this probably only works if they get Duchene.

Maybe Haglin/Fleury/Pick for Staal/Ward/Pick

This is coming from a Flyers fan but i think you found an under the radar team for Fleury that people are overlooking. Any deal with him probably works out better for everyone if it's done in the offseason though.

I too love the idea of bringing Jordan back, and I think he would be a better fit down the road than Duchene.

Are Ward Hainsey and Staal an improvement over Fleury, Mattaa, and Bonimo? If they aren't why make the trade for this year. And is Staal a bargain for the next six full years at 5m?

Looks like a steal for Carolina, especially with that 1st

Jordan Staal is a fine player, but the term and money on his deal are a nightmare. I think acquiring him would cripple the Pens in the future - like in 4-5 years.

Yea. Steal for Carolina for sure. I'm gonna take a stab at this.

That is a lot for Staal, an aged back up and a aged defenseman. Carolina wins this deal easily.
Carolina does not really need Maatta as defense is their biggest area of depth. The Pens would have another decent player/prospect back like Ryan Murphy, Brett Pesce and/or Roland Mckeown
