At least 3 D's picked after him in the 1st round have turned out far, far better: Sergachev, McAvoy, and Chychrun. Fabbro is also better and I'd rather have Jake Bean, as well. But, VAN did strike gold in 2015 w/ Boeser, in 2017 w/ Petey, and w/ Quinn in 2018. In all 3 years, they got the best player available. That's exceedingly rare. No better players were drafted behind those 3.
Watch out for red hot Podkolzin. Probably 1 or 2 guys behind him might turn out better, but still
OJ has a permanent back injury. He can't turn and skate backwards. Poor guy tried but injuries mounted and fitness was questioned in training camp. Huge Win for the Canucks in turning him into a RHD fringer plus a bonus forward instead of a waiver wire loss for nothing.
I’m just so happy to see Juulsen actually get an opportunity to play some games. If he can ever get back to where he was before the injury, he’ll be a good NHLer for the Canucks.
