Chiarot will probably gets us a 1st but no one on Capfriendly would trade a 1st for Chiarot, like he isn’t worth it, but freaking David Savard was worth a 1st +. If Hampus Lindholm isn’t on the Trade Market comes the TDL, Chiarot would be a good candidate for a team like the Isles

Guys Savard got a 1st + 3rd at the TDL too play 3rd pairing while Chiarot went too the SCF, had the most ice time after Hedman (that I read somewhere can’t confirm), Chiarot is twice the player Savard is and have a lower caphit than Savard had. Like no he isn’t worth a 1st, but teams overpays for guys like him

I can’t think of a defenseman available who is a worse fit for the isles than Ben Chiarot, which is why Lou won’t trade for him. Over the past two seasons both players Lou traded for were perfect fits and filled a need. If the rumors is that isles are looking for a puck mover , why would they add Chiarot?

@aadoyle what has Lou done over the last two years that would lead you to predict he would trade for Chiarot and then sign him to a bad deal?

People need to realize Savard was actually good for CBJ before being dealt.. Chiarot hasnt been very good for MTL... they might be able to get a 3rd for him. There are also so many better pending UFAs who may be available for trade who are actually worth the first.
