I can see why Dubas went with Matthew Knies. Watching him play reminded me so much of Zach Hyman when he first started out in Toronto. Only difference is Knies has a much cleaner shot and a size advantage. And whats great hes still growing so who knows how big our future PF will be.

Cant wait to see more of him as man what a goal

Mesar was solid, so was Nemec.
Lambert could be the key to Finland finding consistency
Jiricek was good before injury imo

Yeah, Lekkerimaki is definitely a sniper, he has so much offensive potential. I can confirm he will move up in my next draft rankings ( he was at 19 in my previous rankings )

Nemec looked solid, didn’t notice Mesar most of the time, didn’t make any mistakes though, I could put him ahead of Slafkovsky, who looked very slow and terrible off puck. Mesar looked out of position quite a few times and almost impatient, but I’d agree he looked solid most of the time

Could Brad Lambert possibly jump back into the top 3 picks if he is one of the best players in this tournament? He was last year dropped a bit because of performance lately but if he crushed it he possibly could get back to #3...

I don’t think he’ll touch top 3. Id say his high of 4 and a low of 14. Anything in between is a great selection. 4 is kind shaky depending on your needs but if it’s 9+ you’re getting a no brainer.

Yeah, this is kinda what I see for Lambert, he was at 12 in my previous rankings and may move up a bit but I think he'll go in the like 6/7 to 12/13 range

If I were to make a 2023 NHL draft rankings, I’d have Dalibor Dvorsky at 3

Interesting that Dylan Holloway is skating with the Oilers not the Condors

Niko Huuhtanen (TBL) scored 2 goals and 2 assists last night for Everett Silvertips and has now 19 pts in his last 10 games. 2021 7th rounder looking better and better. Add another one to their list.

So I guess Huuhtanen choose to be good now, when I scouted him for the draft, I felt he was boom or bust and his ceiling wasn't the best, he ended up around 185 out of 190 players on my list

I wonder what Palat’s(7th rounder) prospect profile looked like. TBL knows how to scout

Topi Niemelä has signed a one-year contract extension with Kärpät that will keep him in Liiga through the 2022-23 season.
IMO this is only a safety net thing, to secure his future. Still think he signs an ELC and comes over next year.

Edit:
Looks like he will remain in Europe for at least one more season after this before coming over to North America.
