They have this guy named Markstrom. If they want to improve don't be shocked to see him moved

Thats way way too much to give up for a rental, especially when the Flames have 4 big contracts to give out this offseason.

Not a chance they would do that.

What happens when Markstrom retires/walks at the end of his contract? Plus Wolf is a top 10 goalie prospect arguably top 5.

Seems a bit much for a rental. And if you want to re-sign him, remember that he carries a 10M qualifying offer.

Markstrom is in his 30's, Wolf is the goalie of the future. Same reason Montreal hasn't traded Premeau

I understand the fear of losing Wolf and I think the trade is an over payment without an extension in place, but the fear of losing Marky five years down the road trough his UFA status is dumb. If you want to be a contender now before your core's too old you need trading chip and Calgary has few of them, I wouldn't give the 1st on top for a rental doe.

Montreal doesn't have a Vladar between Price and Primeau, just another aging Allen.

Vladar is so underrated . He’d be valued higher if he wasn’t on the same team as Swayman and now Wolf

What? Hertl is a UFA
Im assuming you're thinking about Meier, in which case the QO does not matter unless meier only wants a 1 year deal.

I don't think Wolf is untradeable, this is just not the trade for a top 10 goalie prospect, especially because the Flames (likely) cant re-sign him. If they trade him, its for someone better or with more term. With that said, I like the bridge they have because Wolf likely wont be NHL ready until the Vladar contract is u, and the FLames have other pieces to move if they want to really make a push.

Seems not bad, is Wolf still regarded highly? Because he would need to be for this to work

Ah yes, mixed up the two. Scratch my second sentence. First one stands.
