Bruins accept, they'll have to dump Moore somewhere but that's worth it

Obviously, totally agree here. Do you think there’s any reasonable scenario with a Debrusk+ for Monahan?

Still. Calgary needs a 2C not less than Boston. The need in a winger is debatable though. But I get your point here. The price for Monahan is likely a second rounder plus a b prospect. How much DeBrusk costs is another story.

No because Calgary would not consider qualifying DeBrusk next year as they really dont want or need LWs and are more in need of a top 6 center.

Even if its not optimal for the team betting on Monahan to bounce back to form is way more beneficial than blocking someone like Pelletier who arguably could be on the main roster now

very risky. Boston has actually been fine in the 2c department. Coyle is playing at a .61ppg pace right now. thats not terrible for 2nd line. actually pretty good. the problem is outside of top the line hall and coyle NOBODY else is picking up any scoring slack. and the defense isnt good enough to win 1-0 every night.

The thing that doesn’t make sense to me there, is there is certainly a scenario where both debrusk and monohan kinda continue their crappy pace, and being able to not qualify debrusk, and just walk away would be preferable to having monohan at his deal for another year.

First seems a bit steep given Monahan’s troubles the last few years.

There is no reasonable scenario for Debrusk + for Monahan. Monahan is playing no better than DeBrusk right now, maybe worse, and that's saying something. You want to lock in at 6M + for next year? Not me.

I can see acquiring monahan, having a change of scenery/culture change/coaching change lead to him getting back to a 2C. I’m not seeing many other ways the bruins can get that.
