Yup the Canucks are definetly gonna give up a 4th for a guy they could've had for free. Impeccable logic

Just give a divisional rival our fifth leading scorer for a 3rd yea makes sense. Also Muzzin gone for basically nothing? Vancouver and Ottawa say no

You are one out of a long list of leafs fans that need to stop dumping Petr Mrazek on us without paying for it.

Ottawa is not a free dumping ground for Toronto.

Try again.

Wow...so bad, Muzzin doesn't waive. No team trades for 2.5m Ritche. Mrzarek is virutally untradeable wihout similar cap coming back to the Leafs. Certainly weaker without Kerfoot.
But really having Campbell retained as a Leafs isn't a priority for other teams. Wanna keep Campbell,? Nylander gets traded and Joey Anderson takes his place.

It’s gonna cost you a pick to dump Ritchie

you can't dump your crap on other teams and expect them to give up assets for it

That's probably a really good haul for Muzzin. Either way Detroit easily declines. Not giving up a future top 4 defenceman for a guy like Muzzin.

Yeah Campbell has no grounds to ask for that much

If we look at 5 recent goalie extensions

Saros 5mill x 4 years
Demko 5mill x 5 years <--- What he is doing in Vancouver is very similar to Campbell which is why I feel this is the deal he gets
Anderson 4.5mill x 2 years
Ullmark 5mill x 4 years
Petersen 5mill x 3 years

And from the previous year

Robin Lehner 5mill x 5 years <-- This is the deal I see him signing

And yes yes there were guys making more but they had either accomplished more, were younger, or over paid to stay/go in an undesirable market.

Now before we go on yes Campbell has played very well but if you go look at goalies who are making 6-10mill these guys played 40-50 games a season. Campbell has never played more than 31. Sure he may play 45-50 games this season but that does not warrant 6mill

Demko, Petersen, and Saros were either RFAs or still under contract so they aren't great comparables. Markstrom is probably the best comparable

We dont know yet when Toronto plans to extend Campbell

Could be next week, at the deadline, or maybe before FA

But as of rn Petersen is the closest bet but Ullmark should we go right to FA is the second closest.

As like what Dubas did with Muzzin or Rielly where we heard nothing than all of a sudden bam extended

Markstrom was a true NHL starter playing in some cases 60 games a season. Campbell has not played more than 31 so these are things to factor

Detroit doesn't even consider that. I was surprised when I saw he is only 32.

Muzzin is an old 32. Lots of hard miles on him from those Kings Cup runs. His body is breaking down. He's regressed even from last season.

I thought he was older by watching him play.
