why would anyone pay to take on prices' full deal? obviously keith and koskinen are included here but price's deal is bigger than both combined and way longer.

You can't take Price without retention unless you have a Silverberg or Duchene type contract to send back. (Example of contracts, not players)
Someone that is going to offset a significant portion of his contract for the majority of its term.
If you had that, instead of Keith and Koskinen, it might work.

Not a need, but if he works out and we can flip LD prospect depth for RD prospect depth, might be worth considering.

Seems like overpayment since you aren’t really sending much extended cap back. Koskinen is only till end of season and Keith is only one season after this.

You get out of a huge contract without retaining salary or having to take on anything long term and gaining a very flipable asset (broberg) and a 2nd. I honestly think Montreal would have to jump all over that if offered

why would you not want a good young prospect in a rebuild? if he pans out and you don't have room for him you trade him

People forget on here that players pan out or don't pan out all the time and other trades can be made too. Adding depth to an already strong part of an organization is never a bad thing. Sadly a lot of people have tunnel vision and don't see beyond what's posted in front of them.
