I'd imagine the Jets hold out for a first or a better prospect if they move him in division.

A left handed C prospect doesn’t work for Winnipeg.

Yeah that’s kinda what my thought was. That’s fair.

And would you care to share what does work for Winnipeg?

Jets need RD and RW/RH C. I’m not sure what Minnesota has to offer in that regard/what they’d give up. I’d imagine a 1st might be of more interest if a prospect doesn’t fit what they need.

There is a world of information at your fingertips, my friend. And as I said in the desc, I’m open to adjustments.

Appreciate the solid answer. We’re thin on RD and Addison would be too much for Copp. Pavel Novak is probably our best RW prospect, but I think him and a 2nd gets a tad steep for MN. Probably not a fit then, as I’m sure Jets would get the preferred pieces elsewhere.

An untouchable prospect who is not getting moved.
@drmantalban we really need size. Our prospect pool, i d say, is relatively small and McBain stands out in a crowd. Also, he is one of the best NCAA centers and I would not be happy to lose such an asset at this point.

I would trade Khovanov instead. But I doubt Peg accepts, as well as I doubt whether we need Copp.

I wouldn’t say he’s untouchable. The guy is 22, so it’s expected that he puts up numbers. But his size is nice and he does throw it around. I’ve caught a few BC games and he trucks ppl.

As for needing Copp, I ultimately agree. I just felt like doing something a bit different. He’s not a guy I see included in proposals very much, but I really like his game.

Is Jack McBain any relation to former Jets 1.0 player Andrew McBain?

McBain is a solid player. Obviously he’s not like grade A or anything, but his pops was a long time staple with the Jets so there’s some sentimentality there. In his own right, he’s a big physical center with good hands and a nose for the net. Skating is sorta the knock on him.

IMO, this is a pretty respectable offer. I can appreciate Jets fans being underwhelmed, but for Copp as a pure rental, I think you can do a lot worse. It may not be a winning offer, but I really don’t think it’s too far off.

“Not even close” ....too vague to be constructive. Feel free to offer up some legitimate feedback and I’m happy to discuss.

Nothing untouchable about him. He can be a free agent this summer. This is also why he will have almost no trade value.
