No team is taking Wheeler's contract.....and good teams have no cap for Dillon without sending cap back to Jets. Even Scheifle has have cap sent the Jets.

I like the Wheeler fit in NJ, productive veteran with size, but unless WPG eats half of that contract there's no reason to discuss.

Dillon to Boston for DeBrusk re-signed prior/lower than his qualifying offer. Apparently he is great in the room.
Dillon 1/2 retained for DeBrusk~2.5M/3rd

Scheifele for Necas/3rd? Drop Bear

We wouldn't have much interest in Stanley, and a 2nd is a little steep for a 35 year old considering where NJ is at. Maybe a younger forward (Zacha, Kuokkanen) + a mid round pick

The issue in the Canes trade isn't Bear or the pick, it's Necas. Necas was a non-starter in deals for Eichel and Laine, they're not trading him for a player (with all due respect) like Schiefele.

No way they'd retain on Dillon with two years left on his deal, long term retention isnt really a thing.

Wheeler should go to a contender. Devils not the right spot for him.

Necas was a dealbreaker for Eichel and Laine, why would he be involved for Sheifele? Connor with some retention, and the Canes might start considering, but it would be very unlikely Necas gets moved regardless of who is being traded for.

Connor is on pace for 50 goals and on a 7 year deal lmao. I get Carolina won’t move Necas but don’t act like Connor doesn’t have substantially more value

Wheeler isn't waiving for New Jersey and the Jets have no reason to sell low on Scheifele at this time.

I don’t think this is selling low. Fills a need of top 6 RW perfectly and a good young RHD

No, moving a 1C on a great contract for a winger and a bottom pairing defenseman is absolutely selling low. The Jets might need a winger, but not at the expense of a 1C.
