For that package? Hell, they'd probably throw in a muffin basket for free.

Heck, if I was the Jets, I'd retain 50% on Hellebuyck and add him too, just to get a whiff of that sweet, sweet Jake DeBrusk.

Heh. I keep saying this website needs to add a laughter emoji button next to the like button.

But seriousy, DeBrusk might be the second least enticing piece in that package.

Thought he’d be a fine fit on your 2nd line LWfrown

100%. Basically a pile of "magic" beans for Scheifele.

Well now, I don't agree with that. Lohrei and the '22 1st have very good value, Studnicka is still a solid C prospect (even if the clock is ticking for him to make it count at the NHL level) and even DeBrusk is a good pick for a bounce-back in production. Meanwhile, Scheifele ain't what he used to be. Dude has flat out turned lazy. Frankly, there's plenty of evidence this is a considerable overpay/bad idea.

Not a Jets fan, but my assumption is that digging a gaping hole at center to *potentially* fill 2 LW with a player who had a 27 goal season four years ago, while shooting a hilariously unsustainable 17% doesn't seem like the worlds best plan.

I don't know...I guess what I was getting at is that this doesn't actually address any of the issues in Winnipeg. I also don't think they can afford to waste the prime years of one of the top goaltenders in the NHL by packing it in and acquiring question marks.

They could move Perfetti to Center and use Lowry and Studnicka in the bottom6, thats not bad imo. Studnicka is a nhl level player but Cassidy doesn’t have faith in him for some reason.

First off, Scheifele's prime is looking like history unless he makes a drastic change to his effort level. Maybe he pulls it together again, but right now he's basically a floater who has become excellent at blowing great chances.

As for the Jets, they desperately need some wing depth. Their wing stable beyond the top line is sad, and Wheeler is 35. Admittedly, they would much rather have a good RD prospect, but hell, they've already gone years without worrying about back line balance, so... yeah.

Sorry! Prime years of Hellebuyck...Not Scheifele...you may have read through that too quickly tears of joy All good!

Regardless, maybe a Scheifele trade is something that could work at some point...as I said, I'm not a Jets fan, so it doesn't really affect me, but if they decide to sell-off, they're in a rough spot.

1- Ah. So I did. My bad. I somehow read it as "goalscorers".

2- Frankly, I think they are already in need of a sizable makeover. It is beyond hilarious how everyone and their mother thought this team was a contender before the season started.

Yeah, that's 100% fair. That Canadian division from last year may have got the media a little too hyped up tears of joy

And in fairness regarding Scheifele, there's a decent chance that I just can't get past how happy I was to see the Jets head back to Winnipeg, and that Scheifele was the first pick for them.

Oh I was thrilled when they went back, too. I have a lot of good memories from my times in Winnipeg.

If Scheifele is available, he won't be for a package like this.
