thats pretty simple you just need to look at the stars contracts and position in standing.

Can't see DAL taking that. Foote is a must.

Can replace Rutta with a forward if necessary, but RHD prospect is something Dallas needs, bad.

Tampa says thanks, but no thanks. Foote may or may not be traded, but it's likely not to be for a rental that Tampa has a 0% chance of keeping. If Foote is moved, it will likely be part of a trade for futures/picks, so that Tampa might have the ability to get a depth RD they could have for this year and at least next year. Rutta may or may not re-sign, and although Tampa does have a couple of potential RD in the pipeline, with as long as Tampa cooks them in the minors, Thompson likely doesn't see his chance until '23-'24 and Schmidt, even if he excels, is likely another year or two past that. Klingberg is a luxury, not a necessity for Tampa. Tampa could use a middle/bottom 6 F perhaps and a depth 5/6 type RD to help bc of injuries.

Coyotes can only retain on one more contract since they are already retaining on OEL and Keumper.. a 5th round pick isn't enough to use that last spot, since it would mean they couldn't retain on Kessel or any other trade

Still don't see this happening I'd still love someone show me when in the lightning history under the Yzerman/Brisebois regime they trade player/s on the roster at the TDL

Montreal isn't just going to give away Petry, if you want Montreal take Khudobin and eat part of Petry's salary then there actually has to be something in it for them besides a couple of 2nds.

Solution to that problem would be to give Sekera to Arizona and 25% of Klingberg's salary to Buffalo.

Getting two seconds for Petry isn't exactly giving him away.

What should Montreal get for him instead?

Lol tampa isn’t giving up foote and a 1st for a rental, not to mention this year foote is showing potential to be one of the best shutdown dmen in the league during his prime

That's probably fine. Klingberg would be a nice add but isnt a need.

It could be a good scenario for DAL. If they can't pull those two trades at TDL (bringing Petry + shipping Klingberg), it can also be an offseason move, but that would mean Klingberg leaving as a free agent.

Price status is still unknown, so it's possible MTL runs Allen as 1A and someone else as 1B. Khudobin would be a fit.
