Because the best team in the west is trading their starting goalie for a LW w/zero NHL goals in 26 career NHL games. 🤦🏻‍♂️

The sad thing is it's not even the worst Kuemper trade we've seen. Not even close actually. At least here we don't give up Byram, Newhook, and a first in addition to Darcy, all for an injured/broken Carey Price! That's progress, lol.

the are not going to trade for fluery, Kuemper has been solid and better than Fluery lately, and at the minimum they are a wash of one another, hes no improvement
So no that is not a reason of why they would trade their starter

Avs aren't trading for Fleury. But even IF (big if) that were to happen, why would Sakic basically give Kuemper away for free? If the plan was to acquire Fleury and trade Kuemper then he'd get a return far better than just a replacement level 4th liner.

No they aren’t. Kuemper has a better record, better save percentage, better GAA, makes less, and COL gave up a 1st and top prospect already. Besides that nonsense why in the world would COL trade Kuemper for Benson? Not a gm on the planet makes that trade.
